2 hours of waiting and no response

Went away hungry and angry.
2 hours of waiting by the table in the moddle of the room and no response. Bizzy and chaotical.

Pros: No pros

Cons: No service

painfully slow service...

i was excited to eat here. arrived, gave my order (crispy dragon roll, gluten free), and was asked to sit by the front window. after 20 minutes, the server cam up and said he forgot what i had ordered and to repeat it. he said mine would be made next, so not to worry. he then sat a few other parties and took their orders. twenty minutes later, nothing. i looked over to see other parties getting frustrated with how long their food was taking. 10 minutes later, folks who had arrived after me were getting their food. after waiting an hour, he said (again) i was next and that my food would be right out. i almost left, when my food finally came out. it had been about 70 minutes to get one dish.

it was covered in fried onions and came with soy sauce. i informed him that soy sauce is not gluten free, so he took it and came back with what he claimed was gluten free soy sauce. i ate the roll, which was delicious. now, i am paying for it. it’s been a LONG time since i have been gluten-bombed. so frustrating. if the food didn’t taste amazing, i would give this place zero stars.

if you’re willing to wait a REALLY LONG time for your food, then you’re good here. otherwise, choose somewhere else...

Great food

Nice, small restaurant with excellent food. A great blend of the two cuisines and the food came quickly and was filling.

Closed Kitchen 1 hour before 10pm

Would have loved to try this restaurant, however they stop taking orders a full hour before closing time. Would reccomend either going in alot earlier or giving it a miss.

Pros: Menu looks nice.

Cons: Closed kitchen too early.

Good food - bad service

The food (when it finally arrived) was absolutely delicious. Despite the great food, the experience overall was not good. We were seated when we walked in and not given a menu until 15 minutes after that. Although our orders were taken in a timely manner after we received the menus to look at, the meals themselves took about 50 minutes from that time (we only got two meals - the dragon roll and the taco).

There was a girl who was already there when we first sat down and I heard her order a coffee. When we got our food (over an hour since we’d been there) she still hadn’t received her coffee despite reminding the
waiter multiple times. She ended up leaving without ever getting her coffee.

The man waiting seemed preoccupied the whole time.

I hope they can sort out this issue as the food was delicious.

Pros: Delicious food

Cons: Bad service , Expensive

An Amsterdam Favorite

One of my favorite sit-down-restaurant places to eat in Amsterdam because the dishes are unique. They are common dishes but with a twist so it's not what you expect when you get them for the first time. Great presentation on the plate. Good size portions. It did take a while to get our food but once it arrived it was worth the wait. The restaurant is close to tourist destinations. Be prepared to wait a while for your food.

First vegan restaurant in Amsterdam!!

This place was absolutely delightful. the sort of restaurant where you walk in and feel the love straight away. Cute paintings on walls and a relaxed atmosphere. We loved it BEFORE we tried the food. We ordered the dragon roll, dumplings and the chicken burger. WOW! We demolished it. I felt so full in my stomach and heart and I went and thanked the chef and staff and that's when they told me it was the first vegan restaurant in Amsterdam! You can taste it! Highly recommend.

Pros: Food is amazing , Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly , Not much wait time at all

Für jeden Geschmack etwa dabei

Tolle Variationen. Es gibt klassische Sachen, wie Burger und Pommes, aber auch japanische und caribische Spezialitäten. Die Portionen sind auch groß und machen satt. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Pros: Komplett vegan, Reich an Variationen

Cons: Eher Imbissmäßig eingerichtet , Viel Verpackungen

Jamaican food in Amsterdam

We had the Jamaican ginger beer, Coconut milkshake, vegan bacon, Crispy Roti wrap and the Karage Donburi. The drinks were good, the food was standard, chicken was a bit tough to chew. The bacon was tasty.
Bathroom could have been cleaner and a mirror doesn't hurt.

Pros: Portions are sufficient, Many options including desserts

Cons: The place seems neither tidied nor clean, Quite expensive , Not so tasty

Average and messy

Not my favourite. Little and not so clean. Food is more like junk food rather than pseudo soul food as they probably meant, and for that kind of food there are better places. Crowdy, you may have to wait to be seated. Staff is very nice though.

Pros: Vegan refuge in the very centre of town

Cons: Crowdy

Delicious and comfy

Every item we ordered was great. We had vegan chicken, samosas, salad with avocado and gyoza. Funny mix of unhealthy and healthy, like fried things with brown rice and side salad. The prices were also okay. The waiter confused the orders once but that didn’t matter because the food was great anyway. All in all a great little hidden comfy soul food place.

Pros: one of the best places I know, nice atmosphere, friendly staff

Cons: toilet out of service

Tasty cool

Good food but 16€ for rice salad and curry I think is a little overpriced.

Service was quick and the staff were nice. It’s a good vibe inside, but I wouldn’t go often given the high prices.

Pros: Good food, Good vibe

Cons: Expensive

Awesome!

We stayed in Amsterdam for a week and went to TerraZen three times during our trip. It was delicious!
The place is IMO very weird looking, but after a minute or two I felt very welcome, it almost seemed like coming to someone's home and actually feeling the warmth and welcomeness. The workers were super friendly, a bit shy, but still very lovely and nice to us.
The prices were quite high, but it was expected for Amsterdam.
But the food, holy hell [censored], son! The food was amazing! I've never eaten such kind of a food combo, I was so impressed!
Really go try it out, if you're in Amsterdam. You really won't regret it! Totaly worth the money!

‐---------------
Edit (august 2019):
Was in Amsterdam again and went for a lunch in TerraZen again. It was exactly as I remembered. The place was a bit more tidy than last time. But the food was absolutely delicious. They added more options and it was really hard to decide on just one.
The place was full but I got my order in about 15minutes.
Def wanna go again when I'm in the city!

Pros: Drop dead delicious food!, Really friendly workers, Welcoming and cosy place

Cons: Could maybe try to make it seem a bit more tidy

Great food but poor service

The food here is really nice but it can take up to an hour to arrive. I don't understand how it takes so long even if the meal is made fresh. I've been put off going here because of having to be somewhere else at a certain time and not being able to rely on food coming out on time.

Pros: Vegan and tasty

Cons: food takes forever to be served

Wish I could give it more stars

The food was tasty, a little oily but that was expected, what was not expected was the incredibly slow service. The lack of soap in the bathroom is really what made the experience unpleasant. I’m sure there’s another restroom in the back for the employees, but not being able to wash your hands properly is off-putting.

Pros: Food was spiced very well, had good flavor

Cons: No soap in the restroom , Service was slow

My favorite restaurant in Amsterdam

I'm a regular customer here and I promised myself to try all the dishes on the menu. My favorites are still the vegan ramen and the ginger apple tea. I absolutely love the place and I've taken all my friends here to share the vegan love.

Pros: Great menu, Friendly staff, Reasonable price

God mad elendig service

A Slice of Vegan Heaven

A fusion of Caribbean and Japanese food, homemade and cooked to order. Yes the service maybe not be the fastest but if you go when it opens at 12pm you’ll be in the queue with everyone else who’s going at 12pm!!!

They’re just a very popular restaurant and have a tiny kitchen working magic with a few precious staff making incredible food from scratch.

I recommend that if you don’t have much time or you’re in a rush then forget it!!! Go back another day!!!!

If however you’re happy to go place your order and have a drink then you can sit and wait and drool with envy at all the plates that are being delivered to your neighbours!!! With greedy eyes and wishing ‘I’d ordered that instead’!!!!

Every time we go back to Amsterdam we visit and are slowly working through the menu!

Go and eat and be in your own little piece of vegan heaven😉

Pros: Everything 100% Vegan , Great atmosphere! , Best food ever!

Just like back home.

This place reminded me of the Jamaican spots I used to go to back home in Brooklyn. Of course, with a twist. The food and place felt authentic, like how your grandma or auntie might serve you back home. I only ate there once, but I will, most definitely, be making many return trips to this place whenever I’m back in Amsterdam.

Pros: Authentic
