I wasn't quite sure what to expect here, as I'd read many mixed reviews. My first impression: Doesn't look exactly classy inside, the bathroom wouldn't have passed any kind of inspection whatsoever... and the owner was watching a movie behind the counter. We almost left. Then my meat-eating friend ordered a 'chicken' sandwich, and as we all took a bite, we were simply blown away. We kept saying, "oh my god, this is SO good" over and over again, amazed, delighted, it was superb. My friend reckoned it was the best chicken he ever tasted even if it wasn't real chicken. The chocolate cake and ginger soy drink were lovely as well.

Just go there for a quick bite when you want to treat yourself and/or someone who really doesn't care for atmosphere and hygiene in a restaurant.
I'd really like to say to the owner (but I'm too shy) that his place could be amazingly popular (he says it's not, right now) if he could just a) get rid of the plastic tablecloth, b) clean the bathroom, and c) put a sign and some tables outside. Because foodwise, you're already way up there, man.

Terrazen Centre, within a 6min walk from the central station, might be my favourite restaurant of all time. Entering the small building, the colourful furniture and wall decorations as well as the rocksteady music vibes from the disco model JBL speaker already promise you a laidback and vibrant experience. The friendly staff fits the atmosphere well, meaning that you might have to wait a little longer to order or to get your drinks, but Terrazen is not meant to be experienced in a rush or impatient mood.

The ramen I ordered here the first time is unmatched, I haven't found any other ramen in other establishments that was as flavourful as this one. Unfortunately it was always unavailable during my next few visits. Which on the other hand is a good thing, otherwise I would have never tried their dragon sushi roll, Jamaican plate, crispy roti roll or okonomiyaki. Piece by piece exquisite dishes that you have to come back for. One notably good side dish is the jackfruit karaage, which makes you yearn for more. Even though the food is high in greasy or fried ingredients, it is a journey of flavours and textures unlikely to find in other places.
If you are looking for a sophisticated and luxurious dining experience with a quick and skilful service you should save that for another time and instead go for this low-key, but vibrant and inspiriting experience that is a guaranteed pleasure for your tastebuds.

Went for dinner here. The staff were really friendly and the restaurant had a great vibe. The food was nice but didn’t blow us away. We ordered spring rolls and got only four… which we didn’t think was value for money. The main was nice but not at the level of some of the other places Amsterdam had to offer.

Cozy little spot tucked down a narrow street. Great walking distance to central station. So many unique options which makes it fun to split meals to try it all. The Bio tacos were the perfect meal after a long flight and train ride into the city. Pairs well with mint tea.

A bit hidden in a side street is this fantastic restaurant. They serve great authentic food. We had the Jamaican Plate and Ital Vital Plate. Both were great. As a side we took the Jackfruit which was fantastic.
