Talking to a brick wall - Edit
Decent ramen, but mediocre starters/mid-sized dishes: the salad "Tengu" with Vietnamese dressing and cashew nuts is something you could make yourself, while the miso aubergine was served cold and felt.. insipid and bland.
Read moreHipster type of place with music that, at times, can be too loud if you want to have a conversation.
Last but not least, we stated in the "allergies/requests" part of our booking that we intended to pay in cash, a viable option at Tengu not long ago. Upon arriving, we got no information that it wouldn't be feasible. However, our hard-earned loot was flatly refused once we were handed the bill. In other words, they don't bother reading, let alone accommodating, such requests. Make sure you don't show up in hopes that they will serve you a, say, fruitarian dinner.. because you will most likely leave with an empty stomach.

Decent but weak - Edit
Nothing special. It is hard to make a good vegan broth. Sadly Tengu fails. Way too little umami/depth. Just salt. Also the soy mince does not taste anything, just soy. And the ingredients feel cheap, no mushroom. Nothing extra. No chili even. Just a weak version of their unethical animal ramens.
Read moreI recommend Take Ramen in Stockholm instead. They make a great broth. Happy cow refuse to add this listing for some inexplicable reason. But take it from a local - much better! Tengu - try and add some more depth and make it more value for money. You need to marinate and season the soy mince. Check out the competition you are lagging behind.

I also like Take Ramen, and have considered adding it to HappyCow. The reason why I haven't done so is because a decision was made that restaurants were supposed to offer at least three vegan dishes, and Take had only one.. but they seem to have two ramens now?
Read moreI guess the person who added Tengu felt their smaller dishes should count..

Actually, Take Ramen is live right here: https://www.happycow.net/reviews/take-ramen-stockholm-417994 (I was about to add it, but couldn't.. as it's already listed)

best ramen in the city - Edit
I got the one vegan option on the menu, the miso ramen, and it was really delicious. not so many toppings, but the broth was delicious. it's also really clear from the texture of the noodles that they make them fresh in the restaurant, so good!
Read moreit can get a little busy around lunchtime, so head there at 11:30 if you're with a few people. they have a lunchtime offer where a bowl of ramen is only 175 kr, so its worth going there for that! it's also nice to KTH so I like going there for my lunch break every now and then :-)
Pros: delicious ramen, lunchtime deal is cheap , great location
Cons: can be really busy at lunch, limited seating , only one vegan option :-(

Great ramen - Edit
Went there for lunch. The ramen was quite minimalistic, not a lot of toppings but tasted great. I prefer less salt and chewier noodles but it is a great option. They also eggplant tempura on the menu, I will try it next. This place is popular so try to get there a bit earlier, especially for lunch
Read morePros: Great tasting ramen, Trendy interior, Affordable lunch option
Cons: Only one clearly marked vegan dish on the menu, Can be crowded
