I don’t understand the hype - Edit
Was kind of disappointed. The chicken pieces looked instagram worthy, but it tasted quite average. I really liked the texture of the seitan and the breading. However, when they serve the sauce over the wings it just gets soggy (as in the buffalo wings). I didn’t enjoy the buffalo sauce at all, it lacked depth, it stayed on this metallic flavor profile. And the mac and cheese were really dry. Hm, wouldn’t recommend. But the store looks cool.

Must-Have if you go to Kings Cross or St Pancras - Edit
I love this place. I make every effort to go whenever I'm in Kings Cross. The service is always friendly and quick. Grab the deserts while they still have them!

Incomprehensibly slow - Edit
Highly rated by Happy Cow, this vegan burger joint seemed a bit out of the way but worth a detour. An hour and a half later, I have no choice but to caution you - unless time is in abundant supply this is a place worth avoiding. Especially as the food is really quite ordinary - too salty chips, plain burgers and super sweet milkshakes. The tables are gritty, as the staff are constantly busy trying to fix their huge backlog of orders. Shame to say but there are better options than waiting for hours for mediocre food truck quality food.
Read morePros: All vegan options , Happy, friendly staff, Chill diner vibe
Cons: Quite ordinary food - salty, Abysmally slow service - an hour for a burger!!, Greasy options only

Amazing Vegan Chick'n at affordable prices! - Edit
* Overall Review on the Last Paragraph below
Read moreWHAT I HAD: Temple Burger [£8.00] Chick’n Fillet, Ranch Mayo, Bacon, Cheese, Lettuce & Pickles; Buffalo Wings (4 Pcs) [£6.00] with Ranch Mayo; Regular Mac n Cheese [£4.00]; Regular Coleslaw [£2.50] *I had the Temple Burger with Coleslaw and Drink as a Regular Combo [ £3.00 to Burger Order]
FINALLY got to try Temple of Seitan and I completely understand the hype behind this now. Wow. The Temple Burger and Buffalo Wings were really good.
Their Chick’n is tender, juicy, dense and meaty with a nice crunch from the breading that isn’t too thick. The cheese in the burger was more of a hard cheese that isn’t melted, which I didn’t mind as it added another dimension of savouriness, nuttiness and aged flavour to the burger. It was a well-constructed burger that let the Chick’n Fillet shine! The Buffalo wings were nice and spicy! The ranch mayo of course is the perfect dipping for it to balance out the spiciness and add some tang and creaminess. It was also served with some carrot sticks and lettuce shred which I find thoughtful. The Coleslaw was great – creamy, fresh, crunchy and well-seasoned.
The Mac n Cheese was pretty good as well, topped with bacon bits, cream cheese and parmesan crumbs. The sauce was thick and flavourful but wasn’t as good after a couple of minutes when it quickly turned gummy. An alright vegan Mac n Cheese that hits the spot but not the best I’ve had.
The place is pretty spacious but there is quite few tables. As it’s really popular, most of the seats were taken up when I was there for lunch that I had to sit outside. It is situation outside a student accommodation building by the river so it is a quiet area and nice to sit out (if the weather permits). Still, I think they (and us customers!) really will benefit from more seating. Everything is self-service, like a fast food joint. Still, the staff who took my order was nice and smiley.
I definitely recommend Temple of Seitan for their amazing Vegan Seitan Chick’n (be it in burgers or wings)! Their prices are reasonable too, really worth it for what you get even for the sides of decent portions! I will definitely be coming back for more Vegan Chick’n!
Pros: Fantastic Vegan Chick'n!, Reasonable Prices, Friendly Staff
Cons: Could have more seating

This is my favourite place to eat in the whole of London!! Their monthly specials are always amazing, their burgers are the most indulgent burgers I've ever eaten - vegan or not! And their popcorn chicken bites are just wow!!

Great wings! - Edit
Let's be real, I wanted to go there just for the Temple of Seitan name, which I just love as a concept, but the food was pretty good, too! The burger was kind of average. I had the cheeseburger and it reminded me of a better McDonalds type burger. Since I was kinda craving something like that, I enjoyed it.
Read moreWhat was really amazing were the fried wings. Had the 'normal' ones and they were just so good. Soft and juice inside, like real chicken, and very nice crispy batter that I found quite flavorful too. Would definitely return just for those. My non-vegan friends enjoyed it as well!
Pros: Very fairly priced, Great fried wings, The 'cheese' is nice
Cons: Burgers a bit average (ok for the price tho), I didn't like the 'bacon' (wasn't crispy)

Creative and fun but could be better - Edit
Temple of Seitan is already an institution but I'm always amazed at the lack of research business owners appear to carry out, especially when the longevity of their businesses depend on it! Just up the road from the Temple of Camden is Mildred's vegetarian restaurant. Their fried chicken - which has spices and flavours in the batter - is twice as good as Temple's. Surely Temple should be the king of vegan fried chicken, yet their batter and chicken is tasteless by comparison. I strongly advise the owners of Temple to wander up the road to check out the competition because we need Temple to survive the initial novelty period! Having said this, if you haven't been, Temple is a 'must go' for vegans and non-vegans alike!

Vegan junk food heaven in London - Edit
I was expecting like 2 years to taste this place (I live in Spain) and it totally makes my day (and stomach) when I came to it. Amazing. The taste of the “Two pieces of Chick’n” was outstanding.... I tried even the mac’n’cheez and the deluxe burger... no words. You just have to taste it.

Incredible - Edit
This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I opted for the temple deluxe burger, a 50:50 snack box and a biscoff milkshake with cream. The milkshake was sooooo thick and delicious, possibly the best I’ve had, vegan or otherwise. The burger was amazing and actually tasted a lot like how I remember a Big Mac tasting - I would challenge any carnivore to dislike it. I loved the popcorn chicken bites in the snack box and the fries (can’t go wrong) although it was very big so I would say you’d only need either a burger or a snack box - unless you’re extremely hungry!

Delicious Vegan Fried Chick'n - Edit
One of the best fried Chick'n joints I've been to. A large range of mains (burgers) and sides, as well as some of the most delicious milk shakes (closer to thick shakes). Recommended for anyone in the area.

Okay but prefer temple of hackney - Edit
The chicken pieces here are too thin, the 2 times I went very greasy because of this, been to the hackney branch and they have much better thicker pieces of chicken. Also we ordered gravy which I expected southern style gravy like hackney but was served bisto red, if my tastebuds serve me right, found the staff a little rude when I asked about the chips, very disappointed as I thought the second time I went there would be a bit better. My advice go to the one in hackney. Been there 3 times and every time the food amazing.

mixed feelings - Edit
I really wanted to give this place full stars but I just didn’t like the chicken itself. The burger I had was great and the wrap was also delicious but the actual chicken when by itself was quite lack lustre to me. It was a little tough and chunky and just lacking that wow factor for the price etc. Overall an amazing place and I would definitely recommend a visit! Milkshakes are also unreal and staff were so friendly and lovely!

Great burger and very friendly and helpful staff - Edit
Had a delicious burger, my boyfriend had some spicy "wings" that were a bit too spicy for him. Everything is vegan and the food was good value for money, we also got our food fast. The person at the counter even gave us some recommendations about places that we might be interested to see, adapted to our interests and where we were staying! We took a nice walk by the canal outside the restaurant after our meal, beautiful😄

Tasty junk food - Edit
This would be a good place to take carnivores to convince them that not all vegan food is tasteless health food. Portion sizes were large. The restaurant was crowded, but service was prompt. The ginger beer was esp. tasty.
