Great cake and pastries

We ordered the vegan marriage cake and something like a cream/mousse (forgot the name, but it was very tasty). Both are yummy. The waitress told us that icelandic people loves sugar and so everything is a little sweeter (but tastes perfect).
They also have different vegan mains. And have a lot of cold drinks, there is a happy hour (from 5pm-6m for different types of beer 0,40l for 666ISK). Cute little cafe, with many details.

Been there on the next day for the harira soup and the shakshouka with bulsur, both very good. Tasty sourdoughbread with humus as well.

Cute little spot with great food!

Loved this gem in Egilsstadir. The vegan soup was delicious and very filling, came with hummus and bread as well. Also saw vegan desserts and oatmilk available. Really cute interior and staff was friendly.

Cozy with lots of options

Super cute and cozy place with a majority vegan and vegetarian menu. We had vegan Harisa (lentil soup) and shashouka (which came with vegan bulsar sausage) for lunch. Both dishes came with toasted garlicky bread and hummus, and were very hearty and filling. Would give five stars if I could!

Pros: Lots of options , Affordable , Very cute place

Best and Cheapest Food/Beer in Iceland

My wife and I shared the vegan Harira soup and the vegan sausage dish. They were the best dishes we have had in the past 3 days in Iceland. The atmosphere was great. There is seating inside and outside. This is a hostel, but it’s not just for young people. We’re in our 40’s and we were amongst people of all ages and it was great. Best prices in Iceland!!!!

Pros: Vegan dishes, No wait time , Great beer selection

Cons: None

Yumm yumm in the vegan tumm tumm!

We arrived around 8pm and there was only a vegan soup left (exactly what we wanted). Combined with bread, dessert (vegan crumble pie and waffles) and a beer and tea this was a very filling and delicious evening meal for two people.
The friendly owner takes pride in his food and even gave out samples of the beer to taste. He also has a wide choice of teas on offer and you get your own little teapot.
There were two vegan desserts (the crumble pie with date paste and a kind of coconut cream). He even asked if my SO wanted regular waffles or vegan ones. The waffles were yummy in the tummy, fresh and homemade. Highly recommended!

Pros: Vegan soup, Two vegan desserts, Vegan waffle option

Cons: None

Good soup...

The soup Havarí or something like it was flavourful, they also had whole weat vegan waffles that where good. The menu seems different between days, these where the only two vegan options listed. The girl assisting us was wonderful. I had expected more options from reading the other reviews and ended taking two hungry kids away with us 😅

Pros: Had two vegan options

Cons: Not really a restaurant, bar really.

Best food we ate in Iceland

We needed something to eat early one morning as we had a long drive ahead of us. As it was Good Friday not a lot was open. We went around 10.30 however they weren't serving lunch yet, however I seeing our disappointment said he could cook it for us (i think cause it was pretty quiet) it was a small menu but all vegan he assured us-without us even asking!! We had the sausage stew for 1500 kr each, which we thought was very reasonable. It was honestly the tastiest food we have eaten in Iceland, authentic comforting grub!!

Revolutionary in Iceland

At Tehusid you can sit down for hot drinks with coffee-bites, a cold alcholic beverage with snacks or have an amazing flavourful meal. The place offers comfort, coziness and great music all day long. So many delicious vegan options and revolutionary to Icelandic traditions. You should definitely try their version of Haríra (soup), vegan Bulsur, or the Happy Marriage cake. They’re the best!

Pros: Creative and inspiring menu., Lots of vegan options which are all amazing! , Very lovely staff.
