Good service station - Edit
This is a really good service station- it has beautiful views through big windows, it’s spacious and clean. There’s a farm shop, restaurant and quick stop options. The quick stop options included falafel, roasted veg and hummus sandwiches (which were juicy with nice bread), a Bombay Spinach and potato pie (tasty but misnamed as more Moroccan flavours), chips, soups (spiced cauliflower/ leek and potato- bit thin but decent). In the restaurant they also have a salad station that looked good and they had vegan tagine & chelsea buns (they looked quite dry; so many cakes and none of them vegan) & vegan oats. Good prices for good quality food. Farm shop- lots of meat products so beware. Does also stock vegan chocolates, veg, nibbles etc Much better than food found at other services like Costa, Greggs, m&s etc
Read moreHave visited the north and southbound services which are very similar although southbound seemed to have better lay out of different counters & varieties of food. Had some great skin on fries with black garlic ketchup & some mixed salads. The focaccias looked really good. Disappointing on the cake front- just one vegan option out of at least 20 sweet things.

Read moreIt needed a bit of salt, but once we added that it was delicious.
We got tofu wraps with salad and mango dressing, potato salad, vegan pesto pasta, a really good kohl rabi salad, freshly pressed apple juice and coffee. All was pretty good, the salads and apple juice were the best.

We always love driving north as an excuse to go to Tebay (our favourite is the northbound actually but they’re essentially the same). Always have loads of beautiful vegan clearly label optioned in their cafes and farmshops, plus great coffee, sparkling water that we recently found it is is bottled on site from their local “bore hole” with water from the fells (as sparkling water obsessively this geeked us out, though don’t really know what a bore hole looks like) and always friendly staff.

I judge most lunch places by the vegan options for sandwiches. It's usually a sad looking falafel wrap. Guess what they had here.

Overrated, overpriced and playing the “wholesome” marketing card… These types of “farm shops” perpetuate the active slaughter and modern monoculture breeding. Don’t buy into the lies.

Great wholesome food for a service station! - Edit
It was great to find such great homemade food available at a service station. The vegan options were clearly marked and the lentil dahl, roast butternut squash and crispy kale tasted amazing. There was also a good range of salads and the shop sold some really good vegan chocolate and sweets.
Read moreIt is a services based around a farm shop idea, so there is a butchery on site as a warning. However, if you're looking for wholesome vegan hot food on a long car journey, its a great stop to go to.
