Poor advertising - Edit
I checked their website, Facebook page and called (voicemail) all saying the restaurant was open. Showed up to a dive location where you get out and everyone stares at you. Very unclear where to go. Limited pub type menu, no vegan food. Greeted us by saying everything they were out of. Do not waste your time.

Vegan options - Edit
It's great to have a restaurant in a tourist area with many vegan options. The cauliflower in a peanut sauce and the magical veggie bowl in a coconut curry sauce were delicious. The warm olive dish was also exceptional. For our meat-eating friends, the Haddock bites were great and served in a large portion. The rest of the food, including the mushroom and kale bocadillo and chickpea fritters, was good with a notable lack of vegan protein in any of the vegan dishes. The complimentary sweet potato chips with bean dip lacked flavor.
Read moreService was slow even though the restaurant was not full. It took 70 minutes for the pizza (from placing the order to its arrival).
Pros: Many vegan options, 2 vegan options were excellent
Cons: No vegan protein in any of the dishes, Long wait time for food

Very vegan friendly. Chickpea fries were delicious and DENSE. I had mushroom and kale open sandwich - the food was good and I liked the tapas style. Reasonably priced and really friendly and welcoming vibey atmosphere.

Hidden Gem - Must Visit - Edit
Awesome Vegan Options; VERY Friendly Staff (Cora our server) & Chefs Leslie, Jess & Renee. If you call ahead 24 hours, Chef can prepare a special Vegan Dessert for you. They do serve meat but their Vegan options are simply delicious. We had Chickpea Fritters served with nice and smoky Chipotle Ketchup; delicious Cauliflower Juju (Chef Jess’ creation) & Mushroom and Kale on really soft Naan bread. Tavern 27 has a very positive vibe to it - they’re willing to work with a range of dietary preferences. A very authentic experience and well-run cozy establishment. You can also order takeaway except busy hours (5pm to 8pm). They are very accommodating! Everything is prepared fresh and staff can explain the ingredients of the dish very well. We will DEFINITELY be returning to Tavern 27 & their sister establishment Trolley 27 (open during Summer only); Trolley 27 has organic juices, smoothies made from plant milks and they’re trying to perfect their Vegan Waffles - worth checking out if in the area!

Lakes region vegan - Edit
Went up near Lake Winnipesaukee to go to a concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion and was looking for a bite to eat beforehand. We couldn't find ANYTHING, not even somewhere with a vegan veggie burger. Then found this place online and decided to try it, and so happy we did!
Read moreReally nice ambiance and extremely friendly staff, who all made sure we were accomodated. There are a handful of vegan and vegetarian options (some of which can be made vegan) that are clearly labeled. We tried the french onion soup (w/out cheese), mushroom and kale bocadillo, and chickpea fritters. They also gave us a complimentary app of sweet potato chips w/ a white bean dip. Everything was extremely tasty and well made. If you're ever in the area I would definitely recommend checking it out! Just wish they had more options because I would have loved to try them!
Pros: Delicious food, Ambiance, Friendly and knowledgeable staff
Cons: Wish there was more veg options!

Limited but yummy vegan options - Edit
This off the beaten track place has a few vegan options... We ordered them all. We got onion soup (it's veg stock) without the cheese, super food salad (very big), chickpea fries which are like mild, square falafel, mushrooms and kale pitas, sauteed greens with garlic, cauliflower (seasonal veg... They should have roasted it), and olives. It was all tasty. Cheese eaters would have a lot more options but it was enough for one dinner. Make reservations.. It's a tiny place!!

Limited menu, but very yummy! - Edit
We are a vegan family from Israel vacationing in the Lakes Region, and were thrilled to find this very cozy, rustic restaurant in the middle of nowhere (although it is clearly well-known and loved by locals). The vegan options are quite limited, but clearly marked on the menu, and the friendly staff are well prepared to cater to vegans. Most of the ingredients are local and organic as well. The salads, tapas and bocadillos were absolutely amazing, and the chick pea fries were to die for! We left happy and very satisfied.

Will go back again - Edit
As a student at Plymouth State, it is hard to find places near by with any vegan options. I came across Tavern 27 and actually found vegan options that weren't just salads. I had the mushroom garlic kale bocadillos and it was delightful! They had a few other vegan options that I will definitely go back to try. They had a lot of vegetarian options as well. The service was great, all of the staff was making sure we were alright and we even got a complimentary sweet potato chip tapas since it was our first visit! Although there are limited vegan options, it is a great place to dine with nonvegan friends. Definitely give this place a try!

Tavern 27 - Edit
My family of six were looking for a restaurant that could meet our varied needs (vegetarian, non vegetarian, children with picky appetites). When we found Tavern 27 we decided we would give it a try. When we got there we were greeted by a very attentive server. We sat down in a side room with another family at the opposite table. This restaurant is in an old 1787 beautiful house. When we got the menu, we knew we would be pleased. When we ordered our food we all tried the food, since it was tapa family style. Some of our favorites were the haddock bites bowl, sour dough margarita pizza, chickpea fries and the apple pastry desert with fresh wipped cream. The children in our party also loved the fact that there were mints and organic lollypops at the host stand. All the food tasted fresh and was grown in their own garden or in local farms. We give this experience a five star review.

Service lacking and not enough vegan options - Edit
Our B&B hosts raved about this place and since we saw vegan and gluten free labelling, we thought it would be great. Our "super salad" was great - fresh & with goji berries and hemp seeds and pomegranate dressing. The asparagus and chick pea fries (more liked baked falafel sticks) were good; the mushroom and garlic bocadillos seemed to be missing the garlic and were bland. This was it for vegan options (other than a couple other alterable salads or maybe pizza without cheese. The real disconcerting thing tho was that three different people waited on us and didn't communicate well so we would ask for something and have to ask again and again - or not get it at all. The owner did ask us how they did; our honesty about the service got us credit for a future visit.

Delicious and Wide Variety... - Edit
I had been here before but was not a vegetarian or vegan at that time.... about five years ago when they had first opened. We ordered a tapas with steak and it was disgusting. My mother referred to them as "steak-ums" and made a dirty look.
Read moreHowever, I went back this last September and had delicious food. I went with a friend for cocktails and ended up sharing a few tapas. We ordered two but also indulged in the complimentary snack, white bean and garlic hummus. Most everything on the menu is gluten free and labeled. Almost everything can be served as vegan if you ask... Also- drinks were perfect.
Pros: Delicious Food, Menu was mostly GF and Vegan, Drinks
Cons: Dark Atmosphere
