Fast casual, several options - Edit
This place was bustling in the evening! I ordered two things on the menu:
Read moreMadras soup - this was perfect, and the cilantro on top was perfect! It was spiced very well and had a thick consistency
Chana masala - pretty average. I got medium spice level (2 on a scale of 4) and a bit hotter than I expected, seems to run hotter than my normal medium baseline.
Great meal!
Plenty of parking, clean dining room, and friendly staff.

Great! - Edit
We go here a lot, it's always good. Very flavorful, a good amount of veggie and vegan options. Their take-out is fast as well. I love the samosas and their vegan chutney

Amazing food and clearly labeled vegan options - Edit
Menu showed vegan options very clearly and the food was great! Cannot recommend the Beyond Keema Curry enough - the vegan yeast rolls were delicious

Surprisingly delicious for a chain restaurant - Edit
Tarka has very clearly labeled vegan options and the food is delicious! There are always many South Asian patrons in the restaurant which feels like a good sign!

One of my favorite places to eat - Edit
Tarka has very traditional Indian food with great flavor. They have a large amount of vegan options including main dishes and appetizers. My favorite is the vegetable coconut curry but I have never ordered something that I did not enjoy.

I want to love them - Edit
I love Indian food... Spent a lot of time in the country.
Read moreWhen I moved to Austin, the Clay Pit was the best option in Austin for Veg options in Indian food.
When Tarka was slated to open down south by the owners, I was elated!
But alas, I'm not the biggest fan :(
It's dare I say, to American.
The flavors are mild and pretty middle of the road.
The potatoes and deep-fried frozen for goodness sake!
If you want something to introduce picky eaters to Indian food, this might be great.
If you absolutely love Indian food, go to the Clay Pit or nearby Coriander.
Pros: Approachable Indian, Quick, Kid friendly
Cons: American tasting - bland, not scratch cooked
