Lovely meal - Edit
This is one of the few vegetarian restaurants in Hakodate, and it was delicious! It’s mostly open for lunch, but I was able to go the one night a week it’s open for dinner (Saturday night). The owner is very kind and spoke English. The food was delicious, there was only one vegan plate on the menu, she just made me up a plate. It came with green tea, delicious miso soup with mushrooms in it, the freshest rice I’ve ever eaten. The plate had this amazing homemade fried seitan, miso eggplant; braised burdock root, edamame, a yuzu carrot salad, and a lettuce salad with a tasty miso dressing. It also came with a mini dessert, there were several vegan and gluten free options available. I asked for her favorite: a mochi like cube with matcha dust and an almost chocolate fermented black bean sauce. I also had a glass of the orange wine, it was a delicious Hokkaido wine! Highly recommend! The restaurant is also super cute, decorated with the owners collection of souvenirs from living in Uzbekistan. Wear socks, you will remove your shoes upon entry. A must visit!

We arrived at Taom quite late in the afternoon, but the owners was very happy to oblige and make us the vegan lunch plate of the day. The food was delicious, so many flavours and lots of little treats to choose from. The owner also recommended another local spot serving vegan food nearby for our dinner!

We came here for lunch and were welcomed with a warming meal and friendly smile. The owner was super sweet and gave us a lot of recommendations where to find more vegan food in Hakodate.

Super cute vegan restaurant in Hakodate. We were 2 vegans and 2 non-vegans and we all loved it. The non-vegans were impressed.
Read moreThey have a set menu for 1200 yen with a miso soup, white rice, vegetables with tofu, mochi dessert and tea. Really tasty and healthy! The tofu was amazing! Crispy outside and soft inside.
The woman in the restaurant speaks good English and is super nice, she treated us really well and was very chatty and friendly.
They also sell various vegan sweets of different flavors.
100% recommended! 💚

It seemed all vegan places in Hakodate were closed because of the holiday. We can across Taom and although it was closed too, but the chef was so kind and nice and said she will cook for us! The food was so delicious, unique and healthy. There were also cakes and hot beverages. We had such a good time, we want to come and eat again! Thank you!

Happy to have this option in Hakodate. The lunch plate I had was very nice - all the vegetables and potato korokke tasted excellent. Small sorbet was included as dessert, and vegan sweets like cookies and biscotti were available to buy to go. The owner is very friendly, completing the relaxed atmosphere of the place. Highly recommend visiting!
