Serves meat, vegan options available. Thai restaurant with separate menu for vegans available. NOTE: Reported to also be known as Jatujak - please verify and send updates to HappyCow. Open Mon-Sun 10:00am-10:00pm.
Summary: If you can live with average service, the food we selected from the vegan menu was delicious, serving is good for 2 and value for money.
The first person who approached us who I assume to be the manager was a bit impersonal. As I asked for the vegan menu, she just turned her back. The waitress who took over did better. We started with the Tofu Salad with Sweet Chili Sauce which was delicious. Then the Hot & Sour Vegetable Soup with Tofu included a wide selection of vegetables (I’ll come back for it). The Pad Thai also tasted delicious but the noodle was a bit rubbery. The rest of the staff all seemed nice.
Disappointing Holds itself out as vegan friendly but limited supply at peak hour - Edit
The vegan meal I ordered with vegimeat was tasty and good but service sloppy. Kitchen supply extremely limited. For example I couldn't get something as basic as brown rice at lunchtime. They forgot to tell me and they said they were busy and others ordered it. Seriously? Restaurant holds Itself out as vegan but really they have preferred customers they pander to and leave us tourists for the 2nd best dregs.
Would I come back. Doubt it with current sloppy arrogant service. I could've walked out I was that ignored. Gave up on ordering second course and dessert, tea, other drinks as they were too busy getting books and other things for friends.
It's a really weird restaurant. Tourists stay away. Vegans feel free to try your luck but it's service is way worse than the usual Happy Cow places. Personally I wouldn't ruin my hol with this type of shabby treatment.
