A modern interpretation of a cuisine deeply rooted in the past. The menu is showcasing the vibrant flavours of Morocco and the spirit of Santa Fe with organic, fresh, local, artisanal ingredients. Most dishes are vegan such as crispy bastilla, slow-cooked tajine, zaa'louk, collard green burrito and more. Reported closed September 2023.

A wonderful treasure which must be checked out! - Edit
A really nice haven for vegetarians and vegans which is located inside a store called BODY which also offers yoga classes. The restaurant has been there for over a year now. Has limited seating, but the ambiance is wonderful. The food is really good and service is "pleasant." The food is very carefully prepared and the presentation is remarkable.

Excellent! - Edit
It is very rare to find vegan Moroccan food and Tajine is a great find. I truly enjoyed the bastilla and the beau’azza. Fresh flavorful and delicious! It is a small cafe in a retail/spa space so it could get crowded/booked. Worth the effort!

Absolutely Delightful! - Edit
We decided to try this tiny gem based on the rave reviews here on Happy Cow and well as information on the Tajine website about their food philosophy and the story of the two brothers who started the restaurant. We are so glad we did. The atmosphere was exotic and cozy. The lights behind the island added a touch of magic. We enjoyed seeing the veggies being prepped and the tajine pottery heating on the open range in full view.
Read moreEverything on the menu is vegan with the exception of the cheese board. Gluten-free items are clearly marked. They even offer gluten-free pitas, a rarity. Thank you!
I ordered two appetizers, the Za'Alook and the Bakoula without the added olive oil garnish. My partner ordered the Crispy Bastilla. Each provided a festival of flavors, and the portion sizes were generous.
I have chosen to award 4 stars instead of 5 because the menu is not 100% vegan and generous amounts of oil are used in the dishes. We would have appreciated oil-free options.
He and I both truly enjoyed our dinners and the overall experience of dining at Tajine. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food in a lovely setting.

Overpriced and bland - Edit
This place is all about the ambience. The food was flavorless, bland and so small for what you pay. They charge $2 extra for chips and I would bet my life that they are Ruffles. My side salad was literally just some lettuce with slivered almonds. I appreciate that they are all vegetarian and everything can be made vegan, but for almost $60 for a sandwich, falafel wrap and some tea it was not worth it.

Best falafel I have ever had. 95% vegan restaurant. Must if in Santa Fe! - Edit
Two things you must know: 1. You must try this place. The food is extremely fresh and tasty. Most of the menu is vegan already and for 5% that is not, they can make it vegan. My falafel was perfectly flavored, pita bread was amazing, all the sauces on so delish, and loaded with fresh veggies. 2. It is located inside of a building called BODY that has clothes, yoga, etc... different cool retail to check out. I say this because there isn't a sign outside that says Tajine so you wouldn't know unless you know :). Enjoy!

A Delicious Healthy Choice - Edit
Tajine is a true respite from crowded, noisy alternatives. It is homey, relaxed and friendly. It has been open for less than two months and so the recipes are still evolving a little. The two Moroccan chefs Malik and Zack are just wonderful and the food is terrific! I especially appreciate their commitment to organic, local and vegan food. They are in a small space at the moment but are planning to expand in time.

A Must Try! - Edit
Everything the 4 of us tried was amazing. Tagine, Nourish Bowl, Falafel app, Falafel sandwich, hummus plate all delicious!! Must end meal with a chocolate covered date. 😋 Everyone around us in the restaurant was also enjoying their meals and complimenting the chef. Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant! And if you are only visiting the area as we were, eat there early in your trip so you have time to return and try more dishes!
