I was happy to find an upscale restaurant that had some very nice offerings for vegans. The service was naturally friendly and prompt without being artificial, and the East Indian dish and cocktails I had were beyond acceptable .

Edit on 8-8-24: i ate here again about 2 weeks ago and had the Okra Biryani. Again -- it was excellent as before!

We really enjoyed our meal here. Navigating food allergies is hard when traveling - the folks here answered all my questions and concerns. We loved the palak paneer, veggie biryani and the dal tadka.

Vegan in Alabama - Edit
Driving through Dothan, I wasn't sure what would be available to me. Searched on Happy Cow, and found Taj. Very good Indian food. Menu is clearly labeled with the vegan items. Staff is knowledgeable, and helpful. I would definitely eat here again.

What a welcome find on our trip through Alabama. We figured an Indian restaurant would have vegan food, and were pleasantly surprised to see the vegan items clearly marked. Our waiter also helped us by pointing out which appetizers were vegan. We all (four of us) loved the dishes we ordered; they were seasoned nicely. Watch out how hot you order, "medium" was very spicy to us. The Bollywood movies playing on the screens were a fun diversion, and the fire places were lit. Some tables near them had comfy chairs, and there is bar seating as well. Nice bathrooms, too, clean and spacious. Very worth a stop!
