Tried for the first time

An earthy restaurant with a small bar and several good vegan and vegetarian options

Pros: A good selection of vegan and vegetarian meals, Food tastes fresh, Natural sodas and teas

Clear Vegan Options, Big Portions

I love that they put so much effort into making clear vegan options rather than relying on customizations that get lost between the customer and the kitchen.

I always have enough food. The dishes are tasty with a lot of variety.

Love the fried plantains.

Best Mexican I've had in my life!

This place has a lot of vegan options that are unique and absolutely delicious. I'm also gluten free as ours hard to find VGF options and they have many! Thrilled to find this place!!!

My family frequents this place and I love their vegan options, this place has awesome, flavorful tacos that are downright irresistible. Don’t miss out on their breakfast tacos either!

Excellent vegan options

Taco Ocho is a long-time favorite for their plentiful vegan options. My regularly ordered items include the kale & mango salad, sweet potato & black bean quesadillas, and the Rico Ocho & Madre Tierra tacos. Their chips, roasted salsa, and guacamole are excellent, as well.

If you order to-go, CHECK YOUR ORDER before you leave. We have received several orders with incorrectly made items or missing items since the beginning of the pandemic. They always fix this for us, of course, but this wasn't an issue pre-pandemic, so we always double check now.

Our Go-To Vegan+ restaurant

The food is always hot and fresh. For breakfast or brunch #1 is the Vegan Dream plate with chickpea scramble, potatoes, black beans and corn tortillas. For vegan tacos our favorite is Pura Vida.

Pros: Good selection of vegan dishes., Always great, quick service., Very affordable. Great value!

Delicious

We found this place through happy cow searches and absolutely loved it! I had the vegan sweet potato and black bean quesadilla and it was wonderful and lots of food. My husband had the tostadas and said they were amazing! Definitely will return.

Pros: Great portions, Plenty of vegan vegetarian options

Cons: Smaller inside dining, but do have outdoor seating

Good Food Nice People

The food was really good!! And they had a vegan menu and also a lot of vegan options threw out the menu even the vegetarian options you can make vegan!! I had the Lemon Berry Açaí Soda it was sooo good!!!! The guy who works there Andrew was so amazing!! He was really nice and sweet we spoke to him over the phone before hand and he was so great. Also our server Mia was really good she was accommodating and checked on us often she was really great.

Loving their vegan options

Yes, the Ranchero (roasted potatoes) and Rico Ocho (plantains) tacos are super satisfying! All a la carte vegan tacos are $3.75, but they’re an even better deal on Taco Tuesdays when you can get two for $5.25. (They also have house margaritas for $3 on Taco Tuesdays.) I would go back to try the vegan quesadilla ($8.99). The jalapeño margarita was really yummy, too. The staff were sweet and didn’t kick us out even though we stayed and chatted until closing time.

Love the Ranchero taco

They have quite a few vegan options - at least 4 tacos, one quesadilla, and of course, black beans and rice. I sometimes have to tell them no cheese even if I’m ordering a vegan taco because for some reason, someone in the back likes to sprinkle cheese on top of the black beans.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Delicious, Good price

Plenty of straight up vegan options and several Veggie options that can be made without the cheese or sour cream. The service was excellent. If I lived here i would make this a regular dinner spot. Please open one in San Leandro, CA!

Latin love is...

The wall says, "pure ingredients, food made from scratch, boldly paired." My husband (meat eater) and I (full-time vegetarian/part-time vegan) really enjoyed our meals. Being from out-of-town we're always on the lookout for restaurants that we can both eat at. Taco Ocho fulfilled our needs. The guac was pleasantly portioned, my tacos (the Ocho Maya and the Ranchero) and my husband's (Ancho Garlic Shrimp) were delicious. The rice and beans topped it off perfectly. We both wish we had an Taco Ocho near our home in Cali!

best Mexican food with vegan options

I would give this place 5 stars but the app wouldn't allow it! The vegan tacos are amazing! Served with rice and black refried beans. My favorite combo is the Ranchero and the Rico Ocho. The chips and salsa are free. The chips are thin and salsa is not too spicy. I've tried their frozen margaritas, and they are actually pretty good. They didn't taste like sweet and sour at all, but are really good with a gma floater! At $5 you can't find a better margarita!

Pros: great food, filling, plenty of vegan options , good happy hour
