Love the street food style which is refreshing to the standard Indian curry menus. Really helpful host explained all the dishes and helped us make a choice. Would definately go back
I was touring the surrounding area for work and had trouble finding vegan places. They were nice enough to stay open a little longer on a Sunday night, so that I had time to come by and pick up some of their delicious food. I especially enjoyed the quite spicy chick pea curry.
Such lovely food. Very well spiced. Staff are lovely. Completely understand vegan. Not pushed to buy a drink, tap water on table. My favourite Indian restaurant anywhere.
Surti opened in central Walsall, West Midlands in July 2016.
The restaurant has a relaxed feel and the food is very tasty.
If you find it difficult to choose then I would recommend the thali which is a set meal.
Surti snacks is located somewhere you'd hardly expect to find a vegetarian cafe - within the InShops section of a shopping centre. The food is limited -- the unit is tiny -- but not as limited as in the nearby Burger King, about the only other option in the mall. There are pakora, a couple of curries, which are pre-made and are reheated to order, various sweets and savouries, and that's about it. I opted for the £4 meal deal - a curry, rice or bread, pakora and a soft drink. The aubergine and potato curry was in a nice, rich sauce and did not suffer from the reheating. The other option was chick pea curry, which would also survive the process quite well. It was not a massive meal, but it left me satisfied and was a good choice for lunch.
On the whole, whilst not haute cuisine, the food was solid and much better than typical food court and fast food outlets you usually get in shopping centres - my rating is made in that context.
