Very good vegan options but only two of them

Great openly labeled vegan option, but only one entree and one appetizer

Highly recommend

Vegan drinks. Appetizer , salad, entree and dessert clearly labeled. Very delicious and great service. The menu is small but everything was fab. Make a reservation, free valet parking.

Pros: Korean fried cauliflower , Great dessert , Lovely servers

Cons: Limited options

OMG the crispy vegan wings!

This place doesn’t have many vegan options, but the ones they do have are very good!

The crispy vegan wings were amazing. They tasted nothing like like chicken wings (a plus in my opinion). They were like gourmet sweet and spicy tempura oyster mushrooms with a slightly spicy chili-sorghum glaze sauce reminiscent of maple syrup. The pickled carrots were packed with delicious spicy clove seasoning (and I don’t even love cloves that much), and they paired perfectly with the sweetness of the mushroom glaze.

The vegan gluten free Sichuan rice bowl likewise tasted nothing like Sichuan food, but was also delicious. Though it’s probably better to eat the rice bowl before eating the vegan wings, because in comparison it is not as exciting to eat.

Though it is not marked as vegan on the menu in the restaurant, they have a strawberry crème brûlée dessert that can be made vegan, and it was quite good. I forgot to take pictures until after I ate half of it, sorry!

They also have very good cocktails, but it seems like they may not be properly marked as vegan or not. I had the Cube McGee old fashioned, and it was delicious. It wasn’t marked vegan but didn’t seem to have any objectionable ingredients in it (unless there are some obscure non-vegan ingredients I’m not aware of.

All in all, for an area of Florida that tends to have very limited vegan options, this restaurant does a great job in making the options they do have truly excellent.

We sat at the bar, which is first come first serve (seems like reservations are needed for regular seating). The bartender provided delightful service. The total bill was pricey, but with two cocktails, two appetizers, two entrees and one dessert, we got our money’s worth.

Pros: Delicious vegan options, Great service, Vegan strawberry crème brûlée!

Cons: Expensive , Not plentiful vegan options, Need reservations

Great restaurant! Great atmosphere!

We spent over $100 for the two of us but it was worth it! They have a couple vegan appetizers and a vegan farm to table chef special that changes frequently. Loved my vegan plate! It was a peanut coconut curry bowl with fresh roasted veggies! The vegan wings were a great appetizer as well! Great service and a great place for a date night especially if you are vegan and out with someone non-vegan! You both can be happy!

Excellent veg fine dining

Surfing Deer is a great option for a fancy evening out. Their food and atmosphere are excellent, and vegan and vegetarian options are clearly labeled (even for drinks). I loved my curried cauliflower salad. It is one of the most creative and excellent salads I’ve had in a while. My sister got the garden of vegan and loved that. My folks raves about the vegan wings, which are made with oyster mushrooms. I definitely plan to return, and look forward to enjoying more food in their lovely restaurant.

Pros: Options clearly labeled, Wonderful atmosphere , Delicious

Good but pricey

Pretty good with several vegan and/or vegetarian dishes. Food was very good. Ambience is great and service was wonderful. It’s pricey though for the food. Places need to do better about portion size for the vegan dishes. They are so small you need a few and at the price they charge that’s crazy!

Pros: Several vegan options , Great service

Cons: Expensive for the dishes served

Best food in a while

I got the strawberry salad because I was craving greens and it was by far the best salad I’ve ever had. It had toasted coconut bacon, vegan honey, and vegan goat cheese. It was just so flavorful and delicious. The only downside is that I think it could’ve been larger. I also got the watermelon poke tostadas and they were so yummy. Everything was prepared so nicely. There were a few clearly marked vegan options that all looked awesome. (Not only salads) I love this place and want to go back.

Amazing high end vegan meal

Went here twice while on vacation. The first time was for lunch. We ordered the vegan burger which was incredible. They make their own plant based cheese and put a lot of love into this dish. I also ordered a side of jicama slaw and a vegetable hash. We loved everything. When we came back for dinner we ordered the Watermelon Poke Tostadas which OH WOW we’re so good. For the main courses we ordered the Garden of Vegan plate which had barbecue jackfruit, crispy mashed potato, and delicious vegan sauces to accompany it. We also got a Strawberry and Baby Kale Salad which was incredible. Once again they used a made in house vegan “goat” cheese and they even make their own vegan honey out of apples and sugar. No bees needed for you super hardcore vegans. This was a great dining experience with a wonderful staff and beautiful restaurant. I’d highly recommend it.

Pros: Awesome vegan options, Different lunch and dinner options
