Serves meat, vegan options available. Omusubi is seaweed wrapped around rice ball with a bit of filling inside, like a Japanese version of fast food sandwich. Menu on the wall labels a few vegan small dishes but strangely does not label the vegan omusubi options, which are: hijiki peas corn; mushroom; ume; and eggplant. Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-9:00pm, Sun 11:00am-8:00pm.

One of my favorites - Edit
The vegan/veggie selection is pretty much half the menu. It’s amazing! This location has an outdoor patio. I just like to come here on the weekends. I’m always in the mood for a delicious rice triangle. I recommend the eggplant 100%!

Fantastic! - Edit
Sunny Blue is such a cute place, the people who work there are very nice and they have great options for vegans! Shiso ume rice balls, pickled wasabi, mushroom, and a few others! They’re all good, my personal favorites are the ones I mentioned.😄It’s nice to get rice balls from there and then walk around the Main Street area or the beach!

Quick and Cute - Edit
Sunny Blue is walking distance from me but I’ve only been a handful of times. However each time I’ve enjoyed it. They clearly label the vegan onigiri (rice ball). If u take them to go they also give you the option to wrap them in those cool Japanese plastic wraps where you pull the red tabs. I love the outdoor seating area.

Seaweed wrapped rice balls - Edit
Here's my Sunny Blue review. This location is much bigger than its original tiny one in Santa Monica. There's an entire side and back patio with plenty of seating. Also here a fridge offers some pickeled dishes and drinks.
Read moreThe menu appears to be slightly bigger as well. However they don't label which omusubi are vegan, which they do at the other location. I order 3 of the vegan suitable ones, each cost approx. $3-3.50, so altogether 10 dollars. Three is just right amount for a meal. Taste is good but all the fillings were on the salty side.
