Soooo Gooood

They have one of the best biscuits and gravy I've had since being vegan. (B&G and Buffalo chicken are two things I try everywhere) Their baked goods are sooo good. Everything we tried was amazing.

Forgot it was gluten free

I’m from PA and I avoid gluten free if I can help it because the texture and nasty taste. I had the breakfast sandwich on gf biscuit and a chocolate gf cupcake and they were great. Buttery and soft and actually tasted like what it was meant to. The frosting on the cupcake was also done really well. It was whipped and light.

The snickerdoodle latte was also really nice, not too sweet.

Pros: Good texture and flavor in gf products , Well made frosting, Offers breakfast

Cons: Smoothie was a little tart but still good

Delicious

Food was delicious. Plenty of options for whatever you might be craving. Saw many things I haven't been able to have since going vegan. We will have to go back to try more because we couldn't get all of it. Will definitely be back. We drove all the way from Knoxville.

Pros: Very friendly, helpful staff, Very tasty food, Some more unique options

Stop here

Just great homie visit. The food was simple but difficult enough that you can’t just make it at home with out some work. #Veganuary

GF/V Fabulousness!!

Jan 2022 Update: Came back to visit my parents again. Have visited a few times since I got here. Everything is so delicious and the staff is fabulous. So happy that restaurants like this (though few & far between) exist! We can pick anything off the menu and know we aren’t going to get sick from allergens & we are supporting a business that has an ethical heartbeat. - xoxo

Mar 2021: We live in WI and there aren’t any local vegan or gf restaurants, much less one that is both! On a road trip to see my dad in Nashville, I found the Sunflower Bakehouse was less than 15 min from his house!

The atmosphere was airy, earthy and inviting. Staff was so helpful and welcoming and answered all my questions and gave great suggestions and said that even non-vegans love their dishes! . My husband has been plant-based since Aug 1, 2020, and is still a little tentative to try anything too out of the norm. We split the lemon curd muffin and lemon shortbread cookie and he was hooked.

We are going there tomorrow for Easter breakfast. The biscuits and gravy look like they will be right up his alley😄

Pros: Everything is deliciously vegan. 99.999% gf, Breakfast/lunch/dinner entrees, sandwiches, sides, Amazing bakery items, coffees & teas & kombucha!

Cons: Wish this restaurant was in my city in WI!

Great lunch/dinner options

Don’t get misguided by their name. While they admit focusing on baked goods, they have great lunch and dinner options available. Service is fast and staff is very friendly. Kitchen team does an excellent job with presentation with large portions. Everything was fresh, but not bold flavor. Could be what we ordered, as there was a table of six guys that were chowing down on their meals. I just would like more wow factor. Of course, as a bakery, they rock the dessert flavors. Their upside down pumpkin cake is worth every calorie!

Pros: Staff - friendly and attentive , Fast service and lovely presentation, Portion size

Cons: Would like more flavor

Cute little restaurant with lots of plant based options and bakery

I loved how the bakery had so many options to choose from! Everything there was plant based with lots of gluten free options. They were very accommodating to diet restrictions as well such as soy allergies. The employees were very sweet, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, my non vegan friend said he would go back and absolutely loved his red velvet vegan cupcake along with his sandwich. Service was very fast as well and the restaurant was clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating and is located like 5 minutes away from the Nashville International airport. The food was also fairly priced in my opinion. #Veganuary

Pros: All vegan food and baked goods , Very accommodating with food allergies like soy , Lots of gluten free options

Cons: There are none go here for lunch!

Great Desserts!

This was my first time visiting Sunflower Bakehouse, and this time I only went for the desserts, but those were really good! I especially loved the German Chocolate Upside Down Cake which was delicious! I wasn't that big a fan of the cupcakes, but I'm not much of a cupcake fan in general, so it's nothing that they've done wrong...just my personal likes and dislikes😄

The venue is pretty nice (clean, and that's very important) with an easy-to-find location on what I consider a main road. There's outdoor seating, but this time I just got my food and ate elsewhere.

Hope to try the food next time, as it all looked good!

Pros: Tasty Desserts , Wide Variety of Desserts, 100% Vegan

Cons: Not sure if the plastic they use is eco-friendly

Amazing ❤️

Sunflower has the best vegan bakery food around and their food menu is great also. If you’ve never been here go here and get one of everything and don’t miss the Mac n cheese. It was great seeing the bakehouse at the Nashville veg fest too!

Wow! HUGE menu, amazing food!

The worst part of eating here is how hard to is to choose what to order. There are wayyy too many options and they all look SO good! We ended up ordering a half and half with tomato bisque and TBLT, a Philly focaccia bake, a brat sandwich, two cupcakes and an apple caramel upside down cake to go. There wasn't a single thing I didn't love. If I weren't just in town for a weekend, this would be my regular go-to spot for grabbing a bite out.

Pros: Huge menu plus seasonal offerings, Cute atmosphere and decor

Cons: A little on the pricey side (but worth it)

All Vegan

Went with non vegan family. Got the meatball sub based on another reviewers post that it was salty (because I like salty) and it wasn’t the best. Meat was not beyond meat and was bland and doughy. Was not worth the almost $10 with no sides.

Got the little one Mac and cheese (which doesn’t show on the online menu). That was delicious. They do have some kids options that are not online.

Thai salad was popular with non vegan family.

Ordered what I thought was the buffalo chickpea to go. Got home and opened bag and realized that was not what I ordered. There is a similar chickpea salad with a honey mustard dressing. That is what I got. So disappointed. Not at all what I wanted. These 2 chickpea salads are too similar in name and now I’ve got something that is way too sweet for me to eat.

Bought 4 cupcakes from the bakery and they look delicious. Haven’t tried them yet.

Pros: Fresh

Cons: Confusing menu

The mac and cheese is on the menu (it's labeled as "pasta bake" on the entrée section...they might have changed the name but I think it's the same thing😄

Awesome sandwiches

Had the BBQ chicken sandwich without the garlic aioli too and it was yum. Husband had the meatball sub and although good, he felt it was too heavy and salty. Overall, a good experience though.

Amazing staff

Great food, very tasty smoothies. Didn't try the cupcakes but they looked great. The thing that really sets this place apart is the happy friendly staff. Their enthusiasm is infectious. The cafe are is bright. If I'm ever in Nashville again I'll be straight back here. It's far far more than a bakery, loads of good meals on the menu.

Pros: Fantastic staff, Quick and filling food, Tasty smoothies

Tasty Vegan Treats, Coffee & Food

Came in and picked up desserts to take home. Vegan chocolate "cheesecake" cupcake, german chocolate cake and pecan cake. All 3 were very satisfying and happily not discernibly gluten-free. (Sometimes gluten-free baked goods can be a weird, crumbly or dense texture.)
The iced coffee was nice and smooth as well.
Didn't know they had a full menu of vegan foods to offer (breakfast and lunch items).
Will have to come back to try the foods & get more baked goods, too.

Pros: Fast & friendly, Tasty & fresh

Cons: A little pricy (but worth it!)

Phenomenal!

So excited every time I find an all vegan bakery! This place did not disappoint. Had an upside down pecan baked good that was moist, fluffy and sweet. Also had a vegan sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Really tasty, the biscuit was very dense but flavorful. Highly recommend and will return.

Pros: Tons of options, Friendly staff and service
