Too much cheese!

It is great that Rugby has a completely vegetarian restaurant. The building is quirky with an upstairs conservatory! I would like to be able to eat here more often but their vegan choices are lacking. They always have soup and sometimes a main course. Most of their hot dishes contain cheese or eggs which is a shame as they could easily be veganised. On the plus side they always have soya milk, dairy free ice cream, cream and margarine. They make great 'milk' shakes which is a pudding in itself. Cake choices are limited for vegans but they normally have a couple of desserts - apple pie and a crumble.
If you are vegetarian and like cheese, then this is a great place to go. The prices are a little high. As I am rating it from a vegan perspective I can't give it more than 4.

Pros: Completely vegetarian, Dairy free milk, cream, ice cream, marg

Cons: Too much cheese, A bit pricey

Summersault

Living in rugby all my life have only started going in the last 6 months since I started eating meat, and is now one of the only place I eat when in town. Lovely place to sit and chill, great staff, different selection of foods daily, (not allways vegan option) but still probably top 3 places to eat out if your vegetarian in the town in my book.

Pros: vegetarian, different options daily, beatiful place

Cons: not allways vegan option, slightly on the expensive side, _

Good vegetarian, great ambiance, slightly pricey

Summersault is a Rugby standard. It has been open for years and serves during the days only other than the occasional Friday night when they a very cool Jazz Night. The food is served buffet style and is 100% Vegetarian with numerous Vegan options.

We love the restaurant but I sometimes find it is slighty pricey for the quality. That said it is always a safe choice and being located in a beautifully furnished building it is a great place to meet up with friends.

Pros: all vegetarian, great restaurant layout

Cons: value could be better, would like more vegan

Great Atmosphere and food

Lovely relaxed atmosphere in this cafe. The upstairs is lovely and light with a glass ceiling and some outdoor seating here too. Food is all veggie and organic with some vegan options. They normally have a vegan soup, main dish and a couple of cakes / desserts and maybe another option or two of a pita etc. They have soya milk in for drinks and if you have a hot chocolate you can get a vegan mashmallow too!!

Pros: Great atmosphere, Tasty food, Relaxed vibe

Cons: Not the cheapest, Only limited vegan options

I give up with this place - one star cow rating!

I was really excited that on moving to Rugby 2012 there was a 'cool' vegi restaurant in town.
I've since eaten there about 5 times and also been for 'tea and cake'. I've now decided not to bother eating there again.
The food is BLAND BLAND BLAND ... no flavouring. The best bit is one of the salads and that doesn't taste of much. Now I've stopped eating eggs the menu is very limited. Carb heavy tasteless glup. I've no idea why they can't add flavouring ... it's not difficult!! The menu also lacks imagination. The dishes seem to generally taste the same - TASTELESS.
The owners are like something out of the 'munsters' with the customer service and welcoming of a depressed mortician. I've heard they treat the staff really badly which is why the staff always look miserable and barely break into a smile. Check out the female owner - you'll spot her a mile off ... and see how she doesn't welcome you with a scowl of distain.
I'd only go back for Tea and a cake but as I now don't eat sugar or caffeine I won't be doing that either!
I'd give it one star cow but its not allowed.

luxury!!!

i absolutely LOVE going to summersault.. don't get to go anywhere near enough :(
you HAVE to try their banoffee pie....i just can't try any other dessert until i have had another 50 slices of this!!!

the food is great,£7.65 i paid for a huge slice of pie with one salad.. coffee (cafetiere) was £3.00 so no more than these coffee shops in town.
my daughter took me as a treat as she knows it's like a birthday going there. been about 4 times in the last year, which still isn't enough.

lots of amazing desserts to choose from. not cheap but soooo nice. atmosphere is wonderful, even when it's packed out,it feels very private. unlike some places you go to where you feel everyone is in your conversation!

upstairs was lovely and warm yesterday (sat21/4/12),even though the day was a bit rainy and miserable, was like summer up there.
even small children are/seem calm and relaxed here (including my 3yr old grandson). the toilets are IMMACULATE...well done summersault, and they use environment/animal friendly products.
i can't fault the place...just wish i had MORE time and MORE money to go REGULARLY..

Pros: portion, ambience, choice

Cons: price(value,but adds up)

Summersaults

Summersaults has a wide range of salads, and hot foods. There is always vegan veg soup, and ask for soya milk, vegan marg, cream and ice-cream, some of the desserts like apple pie, fruit crumble, fruit cake are vegan. There is an upstairs glass roofed area and small terrace, and outside seating, some child sized table and chairs. The whole place looks fantastic, smart hippy I would say. It is not that cheap, cup of tea is £1.70p, but worth the price. They have toddler cups with lids on for the little veggies, who like to go there for two scoops of Tofutti. Holland and Barret is a few doors down, so is Costa Coffee (soya milk), and Wild and Free a fantastic organic shop which sells dairy free cheeses and soya ice-cream cones is in Railway Terrace in Rugby opposite the Post Office, about 8 mins walk away. Summersaults has a great, very clean upstairs toilet with baby changing, but sadly no toybox, there are a few magazines upstairs. On Saturdays they still do a vegan main course I think. Everything is homemade, even the bread and cakes. They often have jazz on and stay open late but generally they shut before 4pm.
