Nice staff, cute interior. Yay for vegan options in Hella! There are quite a lot of options

On vacation I rate differently then I would at home. This is because of how many vegan places are around, the quality and how many options there are.

Great option while traveling the south coast - Edit
We were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant with vegan options in this very small town. It made for a perfect stop between Vik and Reykjavik. We got the vegan burgers which are beyond burgers but they prepared them very nicely. It is around ~3000isk for a burger, but that’s ok considering we were desperate for a place on our long drive haha. The restaurant is inside a hotel.

Yummy burger and great fries - Edit
The burger (I believe praegers perfect burger) had a yummy sauce and good vegan cheese, pickles and other stuff. I thought it was really good. The fries were really special as well!

Take-away lunch option - Edit
Easy to stop in this hotel lobby and get a take away meal. The buffalo cauliflower was great and vegan burger was okay. Not amazing but filled a need in Southern Iceland

Strata Hotel Bistro - Edit
Excellent bistro meal in a handy location for driving across Southern Iceland. Nice environment - fresh, clean feel to the place. Friendly staff. If you stay over, there isn't a specific vegan breakfast but there are plenty of good options from the regular buffet and loads of different plant milks.

Good Quality Food - Edit
It's hard to find good vegan food outside Reykjavik, that's also open most days of the week. We were lucky to find this one so close to where we were staying.
Read moreIt's the restaurant of the hotel, and it's clean, has a good atmosphere, and the food tastes great. It was prepared with attention, and not just as an afterthought as some places do with their vegan options.
I had the vegan Wellington, just after Christmas, and the taste and look were great.
Pros: Reliable Hours, Reasonable (Icelandic) price, Good atmosphere
Cons: Only a few options, The sound of other guests carried
