Obsessed - Edit
I went to DC on the train and had a friend picking me up and she asked me to pick somewhere to eat. I was in awe of the menu size and wanted to get everything. I recommend making a reservation especially on a weekend. I didn’t realize before I got there but they thankfully had two seats open at the bar.

This is a vegan’s happy place :) - Edit
If there is just one place you can eat when you visit DC, this is the place. We went here for breakfast and dinner. Every single thing we had was yummmmy! We had blueberry pancakes, Benedict florentine, cappuccino, pierogi, hot Reuben and tiramisu. Everything was good.

Cannot wait to return!! - Edit
I brought a non-vegan friend here for their birthday, and it was amazing! We ordered way more food than two people needed, but there were so many things to try on the menu, and then there were the desserts! Cannot rave enough about them!

Only in town for a day and I’ve had lunch and dinner here. Absolutely delicious. The Rueben…oh my god. Will hopefully make it back for one more meal before my flight out tomorrow evening.

This place is adorable. I made a reservation a week before which I highly recommend. It was really hard to decide what to get luckily I came with three other people so we can share bites.

Brunch for the win - Edit
The blueberry pancakes were amazing and the Mexican brunch dish was a little overly salty but overall a very good breakfast. Fun atmosphere with Saturday morning cartoons on the TV and friendly staff. We got lucky with bar seating on Saturday morning but probably make a reservation.

Amazing vegan diner - Edit
I am so happy I finally got to try this place. The food was awesome. I had the polenta fries, the chicken wrap, and a cesar salad. My son, who is not vegan, had a chocolate croissant and pancakes, and there was nothing left on his plate. That is the biggest complement to the restaurant right there! I loved every bit of my food, and cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. I had a chocolate chip cookie for dessert, and it was THE BEST cookie I have ever had!! Omg I wish I had ordered more 😊 The staff is SO friendly and welcoming. Such a great experience, I can’t recommend restaurant enough!

Easy 5 stars for an awesome breakfast - Edit
Family loved the breakfast we had here. The blueberry pancakes were amazing (I mean the cinnamon butter alone is worth 5 stars!), eggs benedict came on some crazy delicious crunchy and soft muffin thing, and I can’t remember what my oldest got. There was a croissant involved, but it disappeared too fast for me to imprint a memory. We didn’t try any baked goods and we have been depressed ever since. They all looked amazing.

DC staple - Edit
Went for dinner on our last night in DC and went back again for brunch! We didn’t have reservations but they had an opening at the bar and were able to seat us! 😊 portions were filling and I had to save room for dessert. The chocolate chip cookie was how I would describe the perfect cookie. The tiramisu was AMAZING and huge! 😋 would go back here anytime I’m in DC again.

Great Food/Ridiculous Pricing SYSTEM - Edit
I loved my eggs Benedict, it was almost perfect, maybe 10% more lemon in the hollandaise sauce and it would have been perfection.
Read moreBut that is not the reason for the missing star.
I hate QR order and pay restaurants. I want the personal service of a server. But they also charge a 20% that does not go to the staff, but you pay them. Raise your prices or cut your profits, don't have misleading prices. I also want to tip the staff a fair amount (20-30%) depending on the service. With QR service I refuse to tip the same for the lack of the service.

Delicious food. Weird fees - Edit
I really enjoyed the gluten free chilaquiles. Flavourful, filling and well plated.
Read moreThe food wasn't greasey or heavy.
I found the 20% service fee weird as it didn't include a tip. Just charge more or your meals and then optional tipping would make way more sense to me.
I'd come back even though I think the fee scale is weird.
I also hate where have to order from your table, unless your menu / app is really sophisticated and allows you to remove anything you want and tells you what the GFO actually is.

All I can say is Oink! - Edit
By the time I arrived, it was after 4 pm and I hadn't eaten lunch yet so thought I was hungry.
Read moreThere seemed to be some confusion about who might be serving me so I was somewhat ignored for about 15-20 minutes but eventually someone stopped by to check-in. I was reading my book so no time was 'wasted' waiting.
They provided me a listing of the items on their menu that were Gluten-Free which was nice but it would be great. For whatever reason, I ordered FOUR items.
The Oyster Mushroom Calamari, Brussell Sprouts, Sweat Potato Fries, and the Chilaquiles.
The Calamari was very good. I might have added some seaweed or kelp powder to the coating to game it up a bit but great finger food.
The Brussell Sprouts were very good. The sauce was a tad sweeter than I would have liked but very pleasant.
The Sweet Potato Fries were excellent with the dip (I am a sucker for sweet potatoes).
I remember having Chilaquiles in Merida, Mexico but too late. I remembered that they weren't as flavourful as I like and the same was true of this offering at Sticky Fingers.
As you can imagine, this was a lot of food. I do not know what I was thinking when I ordered all of this food. Not the server's fault but they could have cautioned me. Anyway, I ate quite a lot - all the calamari and Brussell sprouts, about 1/4 of the Chilaquiles, and a small amount of the fries. This would normally pose a real dilemma for me since I do not take single-use disposable containers BUT I also don't waste food. Fortunately, I had some reusable baggies I was going to use for some bulk shopping and I was able to take all the remaining food home with me to eat the next day.
Oddly enough, the Chilaquiles were more appealing to my taste.
Expensive meal though even for all the food.
I did see some vegan activists come in and they were chomping down on some very impressive burgers. Pity that this place doesn't offer a gluten-free burger.
Everything came on reusable plates and such. So that was good.
I had a conversation with the host about minimum wage for tipped servers. It is only 5.35$US per hour so they add a 20% gratuity. Even if that is the official 'minimum wage I would hope that vegan eateries paid their staff much beyond the minimum. Starting in 2023 they are getting a raise (to 6$US and 8$US) & stepped up each year but will not be up to the regular minimum wage (presently 16.10$) until 2027.
Servers should be paid an equitable base wage. Tips should be 'extra' & eventually phased out
Pros: Very tasty, Well presented, Good sized portions
Cons: A tad expensive

So many options, all vegan, and all sounded great. We had a Macncheese, Buffalo wings and more. Everything was stunning and filling. The sad part about that was that we were so stuffed we had no room for dessert...

Filling portions - tons of options - Edit
Classic "gotta try everything" trip to Sticky Fingers Diner - be sure to make a reservation! Lots of options, everything we tried was impressive.
Read moreI hadn't been to this diner location since moving away from DC back when Sticky Fingers only had the bakery location so I was excited to visit. We got there too early and our table wasn't ready so we got a sweet potato caramel cupcake and a salted chocolate chip cookie and walked around the neighborhood. Once we were seated for brunch we ordered a BEC croissant, country fried steak, and a charcuterie board. The croissant was delicious and flaky and there was a generous helping of the BEC. The steak was a definite standout, the breading was crispy and delicious and the chickpea seitan was the perfect texture without being to dense/chewy. The charcuterie was great as well, the only thing we would have liked was an explanation of what everything was when it got dropped off at our table. Super minor, and in the end everything was delicious anyway.
There was some slight confusion over payment, table number, and ordering since there's an option to order through the Toast/QR menu or with a staff member, but nothing that detracted from our experience. Highly recommend Sticky Fingers to all and can't wait to come back again and try even more of the menu!
Pros: So many options, all day brunch!, Delicious mains and pastries!!
Cons: Some slight confusion when ordering/paying via QR

Only had a cookie but didn’t regret it - Edit
Couldn’t get a reservation so just stopped by and popped in to look at their baked goods. Ordered a cookie and was not disappointed. Will be back for food, but if it’s anything like the cookie and the wonderful staff up at the front, I imagine it will be amazing.
