A delicious vegan roast (July 2023) - Edit
In the last few weeks I have visited this restaurant three times as I was so pleased to discover it right on my doorstep with a good range of vegan options. The vegan burger and chips was nice but I was very happy to find out that they offered a vegan roast dinner with a nut roast. Nut roasts can be hit or miss but I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was very flavourful. I also had the mushroom soup to start which was very nice. The absolute star of the show, though, was the chocolate brownie dessert which was vegan, it was AMAZING and I could have eaten several more of them. A nice restaurant too, plenty of space and also dog friendly in certain areas, lots of outdoor seating too.

2 options of bland, dry food. - Edit
We went here in June 2022, there was no seperate vegan menu (as suggested on the Happy Cow site), only 2 dishes on the regular menu. A salad.... And a burger and it definitely was NOT the burger pictured above, no mention of it being a moving mountains patty. We ordered the burger expecting the one pictured and were woefully disappointed when it arrived. A dry bun (no butter) lettuce, and half a roasted pepper...

The children's menu had 2 options. A burger and sausages and chips, my little one chose the sausages but they too were dry and not very nice. They resembled the vegatian sausages from 20 years ago, a hard shell with a soft center.
Honestly I don't think this should even be listed as having vegan options because what they did have on offer were barely edible, even when we were particularly hungry after a day of hiking and mountain biking!
Pros: None whatsoever
Cons: Only 2 vegan options , Bland , Expensive for what it is

Hi Laura, Thanks for the review, This is the first I have heard of the happy Cow, this is not a website that we have put ourselves on, however we do take all feedback on board in a view to better what we can offer our customers, I will pass on your feedback to our menu development team at Head Office, We stopped using the moving mountains burger a few years ago due to customers not liking the fact it looked like it was bleeding (It had a beetroot centre) and the Tikka that we sold was too much like real chicken, We also have the following items on the menu that are suitable for Vegans or Vegan option available
