Some good some not so good - Edit
Expensive vegan banquet. Good dumplings, gyoza and spicy fried tofu. Green Curry was tasty but tofu or tempeh would have made it better. The 'sushi' was dry and tasteless. The chef's choice dessert was a sorbet. It tasted funky. Apparently it was durian, which I know is an acquired taste, but I was sure it had dairy in it as it had that off cheesy taste you recognise when you've been served milk by accident. I enquired and was just told it's sorbet. After we left I checked their online menu again and it states that the sorbets were vegetarian and the only vegan dessert was a tofu caramel thing...which we did not get. Did wait 45 minutes for that dessert of a frozen scooped product with a tiny dusting of frozen raspberries. When I asked if there was another option for vegans as we didn't like it I was told sorry about that. It's tricky as there aren't a lot of vegan options this way so you have to expect to pay more.

Good options and yummy food - Edit
The restaurant has a special vegan/ vegetarian menu, servers were also extremely helpful about dietary and allergy needs. The vegan options I ordered (papaya salad, pad Thai and nasi goreng) were all really good. Although there is a live oyster tank, just get over it and go as it's one of the better places with vegan options in the Mornington area.

Vegan Banquet - Edit
For a non vegan restaurant their vegan banquet was soooo good! They do have an oyster tank that we didn't see until we went to pay. If you're in the area and are vegan/ vegetarian you must visit Steam

Lovely vegan options but.... - Edit
Lovely vegan options but I agree, seeing live oysters being taken out of a tank and served up is not pleasant viewing.

Best bet for dinner on the peninsula - Edit
My partner and I came here for dinner and got the their 7 course vegan degustation. It’s fabulous value for money, and we have enough leftovers for another meal. The dishes have all those wonderful, fresh flavours inherent in Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese food.
Read moreWe had:
- edamame
- rice paper rolls with sweet chilli sauce
- san choy bau
- dumplings with soy sauce
- salt and pepper crispy tofu ⬅️ the best!
- roast pumpkin with shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and taro crisps
- pad Thai noodles, with a Asian-fusion coleslaw
Pros: 7 course vegan degustation available ($AUD52), Excellent value
Cons: Vegan degustation available (ZOMG SO FULL), Not fully vegan business , Seafood tanks used and on display

Searching for a vegan dinner on a weeknight and found this absolute gem! Steam offers a seperate vegan/vegetarian menu with lots of interesting options. Service was exceptionally professional, and the bathrooms were incredibly clean! Would definitely recommend for others travelling through the Peninsula.
