Went at lunch time. They had zero vegan items on the buffet. They also no longer include bread with the meal. It costs extra.

Pros: Many vegan options , Vegan options clearly stated on menu, Food is flavorful

So many vegan choices, including the garlic naan, which it totally vegan! To my knowledge, this is the only place in town that serves vegan naan.

Great for Sharing with Family and/or Friends! - Edit
Went with friends including a vegan (me), a vegetarian, and two omnivores. Ordered four dishes (3 vegan, one vegetarian) to share, and everyone was happy! Delicious and flavorful with spice levels for all. We ordered veggie samosas for the table, and the shared dishes included gobi aloo, briyani, masala, and kadai (my favorite). We ate well and had leftovers of every main dish to take home. Employees were were very kind and knowledgeable about vegan items.

Family favorite for 15+ years - Edit
Star of India has been one my family’s favorite restaurants for more than 15 years. I have enjoyed seeing how their menu has evolved over time, but the quality has always been high. Now that I am vegan, I love how clearly their vegan options are labeled on their menu and how much care the staff takes in making sure we are taken care of. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but my favorites are the madras and the biryani!

My partner and I visited here for the first time, and it was wonderful. We let them know that we are vegan, and they pointed out that their menu indicates the vegan options(which there are a lot of!) The staff was incredibly friendly. We got a lot of food to try and everything was tasty and well seasoned. The only criticism I can think of was the amount of rice that comes with entrees. We ended up purchasing an extra serving of rice to go with our leftovers. Wasn't as proportionate to the amount of the entree, but not a huge deal. I would highly recommend, and we cant wait to go back!

I love Indian cuisine. But this isn't it. I ordered chana masala and it was bland. I didn't see or taste any fresh herbs or spices. It was just onions and garbanzo beans over rice. If you are looking for authentic Indian, somewhere else is probably better.

Their buffet had plenty of vegan options and everything was clearly marked, also they have a separate vegan menu with an array of options. Besides the many options the food was delicious! Would recommend!

Wonderful food and atmosphere! - Edit
We love Star of India. Since they moved to a smaller location, the look and feel is far more intimate and service is stellar. I have yet to have a vegetarian dish that I dislike. I always look forward to their food, and am grateful that they do takeout. Yum!
