Spitz is Dope

Terrible name. Lovely everything else, from concept to service to food. Let’s dig in.

This is casual, take-a-#-placard-and seat-yourself, dining. The decor consists of tastefully up-cycled fixtures (with a touch of, dare I say, Nickelodeon chic?), as well as Chive TV streams and other intriguing eye-draws.

The service is good. Each time I’ve been, the staff seem genuinely attentive, nice, and willing to help. And at the risk of sounding like some old fogey bemoaning the loss of values, the unexpected service was a pleasant surprise in a post-pandemic era where such things seem to be reserved for the sit-down joints.

The menu holds a mélange of Mediterranean morsels. Talking totally forkable bowls and dense donnable wraps. After three visits, I think my favorite selection is the vegan gyro. It features falafels and is wrapped in warm, pillowy pita bread that sticks in your head.

Greek Geek

I love Greek food so was happy to see that this newish restaurant has dedicated vegan options on their menu. The Doner Wrap was delish as were the sweet potato fries.

Pros: Doner vegan wrap, Sweet potatoe waffle fries , Right by movie theater; fast service.

Cons: Wish they had dairy free dips and sauces.

Great vegan options

Loved the Donner Bowl vegan style. Tahini dressing wasn’t standard, it’s all dressed up and a little more lemony. I loved that. Photo is when I got full. So much food! Definitely will be back when visiting Longmont!!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Gender neutral bathrooms, 80s tunes on tap

Cons: More hummus in the donner bowl please!, Not located in my home town. :)

Love a vegan menu

Good food. Options are all versions of the same thing, but tasty. Very different from Hummus Republic in Louisville, so good to switch off.

My favorite food in Longmont

Ok so i recently discoved Spitz and I’m obsessed. The food is delicious, very fresh and quite creative (love the donor basket). There is an entire vegan menu and there are several GF options. The interior of the restaurant is adorable and super clean. Highly recommend!!!

Pros: Creative dishes, Fresh food, Entire vegan menu

Cons: Wishes GF options were marked on menu

Ordered off the vegan menu and received non-vegan food

I ordered the donner basket which was under the vegan section on the menu but it came with cheese. I guess I needed to specifically request it be made vegan despite it being under the vegan section? I normally assume things that are under the vegan section are vegan. I have been here a few other times and got the vegan gyro, which was really great. It’s fresh and unique and I am so happy to have Mediterranean inspired food in Longmont.

Pros: Fresh, unique food

Cons: Clarify things are actually vegan

Tasty and fresh

I enjoyed the vegan doner basket but was disappointed that the falafel was a bit dry. The rest of the items were well spiced and fresh. Will be back to try the other items. Cute interior. Good beer list and other drinks looked interesting.

Pros: Several options

Cons: Online menu is confusing
