Best Zero-Waste Store In TKO Also Has A Café Worth Visiting - Edit
This is the TKO-based branch of the organic store chain that is a little out of the way (in Capri Place) that is probably more aimed at local customers than genuinely being worth visiting from outside the area. However, as we live nearby, we're very happy to have discovered it!
Read moreIt's mainly a zero-waste store that sells a huge amount of loose spices/herbs, along with the usual lentils, nuts, pulses etc. The pricing of these is pretty decent compared to other zero-waste places so for adventurous homecooks, you can find a lot of great stuff here.
It also has a café with a surprisingly extensive menu considering the staff on-site seemed to be solely one front of house and one cook so even though we weren't planning to stay and eat, we sat down and gave it a chance out of curiosity. We ordered a biryani and a smoothie bowl. Both were priced decently for what they were. The biryani was incredibly filling because it contained a lot of additional veg and a huge amount of tofu throughout. It lacked a bit on the spice side and I'd argue that the over-abundance of tofu made it unlike any biryani I know, but I came away feeling I'd eaten healthily, which makes up for it being slightly less enjoyable. The smoothie bowl took no shortcuts and, again, was focused more on health than taste. The texture was a bit on the grainy side and we couldn't eat it all at the time. Fortunately, we had it packed up and taken home.
They do have kombucha on-tap, which is always a plus and with two very nice flavours (which we were allowed to sample before ordering), this was a highlight of our visit.
Really need to give a shout out to the service from the front-of-house staff, who was incredibly friendly, informative and attentive. We were given free samples of their in-house hummus to try and these were really nice. The café also has a variety of vegan cakes but we simply did not have room to try these (maybe, next time!).
As mentioned, the location is really out-of-the-way when considering the various malls that one would usually visit when coming to TKO but, if you happen to be in the vicinity, it's worth going to.
Pros: Competitively-Priced Zero Waste Items, Extensive Menu In The Café, Excellent Service And Product Knowledge From Staff
Cons: Location Is Pretty Far From The MTR, Healthy Eating Rather Than Tasty Eating

Great options for vegans - Edit
Get your shopping done and have a quick bite to eat. They have a cafe, local kombucha on tap, and the friendly staff are helpful and happy to give you a taste of their homemade products. Spicebox carries products from local Hong Kong brands and their homemade ready made meals you can take home.
