Cute Little Gem - Edit
Nestled away in the main shopping arcade in Oita, visiting the Soy Cafe was a very cute and wholesome experience. Offering a four piece vegan set menu, plus additional access to a tofu station for around ¥1700, it is good value for money. Additionally at the time of review (Nov 2024), there is a zero-waste shop located directly above the cafe, with a choice of around 6 flavours of vegan ice cream. I'm unable to leave 5 stars as the restaurant isn't full vegan, but I would if I could!

In the front it's written that you need to make a reservation. I could get in because it was empty.

They made a vegan set for us which was soup, salad, croquettes and unlimited tofu (two types) with accompaniments. You should tell them you’re vegan and they can make a special set for you.
Read moreFood was really tasty and filling and the cafe was very relaxing. Waitress was very friendly.
They are very popular so it is best to book ahead- they managed to squeeze us in!
