The vegan mac & cheese is to die for, and I hope they never change their recipe! Everything is always delicious from Soul Vegan. You can almost always find their products at any Chicago Whole Foods.
Greetings, you're getting Soul Vegan (catering, store sales) & Soul Vegetarian East Restaurant (now Soul Veg City after remodeling & name change on 75th) confused.
Hi. Thanks for the note. I think the name “Soul Vegetarian” has always stuck with me since it’s the first name I knew it by back in 2000 … and all my visits when I lived in Chicago years ago. Even when I visit home in Chicago I can’t get the old name out of my mind. 😂 I’ll update that in the review.
Yes! 'Soul Vegetarian East' is Still in my phone contact list! They've been around for eons and when I'm hankering for some of that delicious food - I know how to order it in my phone.
I'm having enough 4 you and everybody! Lord Help! They've expanded their menu (& the prices) with the remodel, it's really nice, open & airy atmosphere.
Not only is their food delicious but the company is upstanding. I love their wraps, specifically "chick'n salad" wrap. Even my non-vegan friends love it! I purchase their food at Whole Foods.
I saw these packaged deli foods for the first time the other day in the cooler in the new Fruitful Yield health food store on La Grange road in La Grange, IL. I was on my way back home to Detroit from my once a year trip to La Grange. I bought the following foods:
Apple Pie - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
Sweet Potato Pie - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
Lasagna - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
Unreal 'Chicken' Salad - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
BBQ Delights - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
Macaroni & Cheese - the best I ever had - anywhere - bar none,
Kale Green Salad - Good, but I've had better.
I can't believe that these are packaged foods. There are some wonderful vegan restaurants in the Chicago area (as well as many others around the USA and Canada). I've eaten at many of them and love them, but none of them top these packaged foods for taste.
