The gal who helped me was so kind and friendly, she recommended the pesto panini, they offer gf bread no extra charge. Subbed for vegan cheese. Lovely little place.
A natural foods store carrying many local items. There are a plethora of vegan options. The kitchen in the back is what we came for though. We got the pre-made salads and pasta that were both plant based. I had the plant based peanut chicken salad and it was very good! Even better was the chickpea tuna salad that everyone in my group enjoyed. A nice stop for a grab-n-go lunch with many vegan options. You can also place an order for burritos and sandwiches at the hot kitchen.
Came here for some late night vegan ice cream in the freezer section - plenty of options and came back the next morning for some morning pastries - plenty of vegan possibilities. Looks like a ton of vegan sandwiches and salads!
This former meat market is now selling so many vegan foods!
Excellent selection of salads, cakes and sandwiches etc. My wife had an amazing bagel and I had a spinach croissant ( sounds weird but tasted good) . The staff were very helpful and the food all looked to be extremely fresh.
They offer several plant-based options. We only tried the black bean burritos since they are also GF but they were so amazing that we repeated the order the next day. Make sure that you order it with vegan cheese! Also they have V GF CARROT CAKE!
Stopped here daily while visiting Cambria for fruit for morning granola and lunch takeout. Their tomato poke salad had me stumped as I was sure I was eating tuna and had to verify it was tomato. Highly recommend!
There were so many vegan options! I enjoyed their chickpea tuna salad, plant based California cashew, plant based Cuesta curry, and some a bunch other snacks! A great place to stock your hotel fridge with some tasty treats!
While staying in Cambria there aren’t many options. This store has an amazing selection of vegan groceries as well as a great little pre made and made to order selection. They really have made a strong push for healthy/vegan. Try the tuna, poke bowl, or the chik’n salad. The zucchini bread and chocolate chip cookies were great too. They were very helpful s d extremely friendly.
I had hard time finding a vegan place to eat in Cambria. So glad to find this place. Always saved by Health food stores. We ordered it the bean burger and potatoe breakfast burrito. Also had salted chocolate chip cookies recommended and a nutty muffin. The bean burger was tasty on a chewy bread. It was a bit mushy and it squeezed out when you bite into it but was tasty. Potato burrito was filling like a giant samosa . It was a little bit too salty for me but I am someone who hardly add salt to my food so probably ok for others. Also salty chocolate chip was very salty too but after brushing the salt off it was fine. The muffins were tasty though a bit oily so probably not good if you want to eat oil free. They had other vegan sweets like brownies and peanut butter cookies all vegan.
Got their chick’n nugs, California cashew and chick’n salad (so good), and vegan curry chickn salad! Cute market with a ton of vegan faves. Will return!
In love with Sotos Cafe - will go out of my way into Cambria for their Big Sur black bean burger, it’s incredible. Also have an amazing “poke” bowl made from tomato’s! Can make most things vegan, super accommodating and friendly staff!! great vegan treats in their dessert case too! Cannot recommend enough!
Lot of Vegan finds like Vegan Rob’s and other cool brands. Nice Vegan stuff on the menu at the back of the market. I got vegan robs cauliflower chips and the Vegan sushi hand rolls at the deli thing in the back. Super yummy food and cute little place would go lots more times. 🥗 #Veganuary
We checked another bakery in town and could not find vegan baked goods. True Earth Market had 5 varieties of vegan cookies! It can be hard to find vegan baked goods and this market was able to satisfy my cravings! BTW, the market looked very well stocked with other vegan goods.
This was my 1st stop in Cambria to buy groceries & lunch, based on Happy Cow's recommendations. It's not totally vegan but indeed has many options and they will modify anything, just tell them. The staff appears to take vegan needs very seriously which is always a relief. The food tasted delicious, original, and fresh & was enjoyed by non-vegans as well; the curry "chickn" salad is yummy on a baguette.
The staff was super helpful and accommodating. 1st day I got their burrito potatoes, veggies, avocado with vegan pepperjack cheese, and a breakfast muffin, so good! 2nd day I got the black bean burger with a kale side salad craisins almond slices, vegan feta, and tossed in a vegan Ceasar dressing. Wish I had asked for a full size salad. I just wanted to keep eating it. The flavor was so good! Haven't had Ceasar dressing in 4 years since going vegan. So this was amazing
This market/deli has the best vegan options for getting BLD and for getting vegan items for cooking your own meal or for grabbing picnic food.
I got the Paso ‘Poke’ bowl and the hub got the Bean burger. Both are so delicious without any faux meat or fish commercial products. The use of tomato for vegan tuna is brilliant. The poke bowl was beautiful and delicious. The combination of tomato tuna, sushi rice, cucumbers, shredded cabbage, avocado, sesame seeds, sriracha Mayo was perfect. It is like eating vegan sushi without the nori. The bean burger was also big and satisfying.
If staying in Cambria, I would recommend stopping at Soto's for your vegan needs. There aren't many vegan options in Cambria and the restaurants that do, have limited hours. So, if in need of some vegan goods, I would say to stop here, get some ingredients for sandwiches, and keep it in your hotel refrigerator. Soto's also has vegan baked goods, snacks, and a Cafe area with clearly marked vegan foods.
I stop in here when I am driving from SF to LA and this time something went terribly wrong. There was a young pretty, tall blond girl making the sandwiches and I was behind someone who ordered a chicken sandwich. I watched her make their food, then she used the SAME KNIFE to make the vegan sandwich. That is disgusting and I will never trust them again. This is a basic health rule even if you aren't vegan it is vile. All I saw were a bunch of young kids working, seems like the adults have left it to the kiddies to run. Big mistake!
