Small restaurant with a different business model - Edit
So Boring offers a small selection of veg dishes (all vegan the day we went there) in a small place near Tsim Tsa Shui MTR station.
Read moreFor me the main selling point of this place is their business model. You pay by donation, so everyone can pay as much as they can afford for the food instead of having a fixed price.
The food was really good. The menu was composed of three starters and a soup and we tried them all. The three dishes were very flavorful and filling.
The possibility of seating outdoors is also really nice as it allows to enjoy the spring breeze and the relative peace of the quiet street where it is located.
Pros: Payment system, Good food, Outdoor seating

Freestyle, my favourite dinning place in Hong Kong - Edit
If you are an open minded person looking for a local unique dining experience, feel free to see what this place is like, don't give any expectation beforehand and observe and blend in, for the last 3 years this has been one of my favorite restaurant and also it's one of the places that got me to become a vegan now.
Read moreBy the way before you go please understand how much dinner costs around Hong Kong and appreciate their effort by putting a bit more to support if you like the place with an open mind.
Personal motto "As vegan, we must ourselves be aware of the food ingredients being used and understand that the fact that some restaurants we visit serves a variety that caters different types of vegetarian and must appreciate that this is a positive gateway to encourage people to try out this lifestyle"

Interesting place - Edit
Interesting place for new dining experience. its more a non profit organisation hosted place. It's self serviced and pay whatever you feel like it's worth to pay. Their dinner menus varies daily - oh yes they only open for dinner. Foods I have had were pretty decent - creamy pasta but heard the the quality of foods may vary due to changing of chefs every night. Went there in December last year not much in my brain now lol but still keen to go back for another visit because I haven't tried all of their foods and probsbky I would never able to as their menu change daily

Cons: Not very easy to reach , Dining outside

So Boring, Hong Kong - Edit
This is a really interesting place. It has a real 'just give it a go' feel to it. Its super relaxed. The space where food is served is tiny. There's around 30 seats outside. The pay by donation of what you think the food is worth idea is outstanding. There was no food left when I went there on Saturday night. I still donated a hundred bucks because I like that idea so much.
Read moreI asked a very nice person working there if the cheese vegetarian. It seems that the cheese isn't vegetarian. To try to be constructive I've messaged the people behind So Boring via facebook a list of some vego cheeses available in HK. Hence why the listing has been downgraded for the moment from vegetarian to veg friendly. I'll try to come back to the point re the vego cheese in future with a further update.
Pros: Inexpensive, Just give it a go vibe
Cons: Non vego cheese
