Lovely veggie food

Had the Nasi Lemak. Loved it. They checked I was ok with egg which was good.
Ate there a second night. Was going to have something different but so enjoyed the Nasi Lemak, had it again!

Mostly great

Nice atmosphere. Prices reasonable. Dishes presented beautifully with many miniature bowls. The Lei Cha is quite nice and you can order extra rice and/or soup, and they made substitutions for my food allergies. Some of the staff are friendly, some are not. Extensive menu, dishes with egg clearly marked. Not all dishes are actually available. Both the food and juices taste healthy and high quality.

No.

Disappointed. Fried fillet tasted like it’s been microwaved, Nasi lemak rice was too dry. Service was bad too - had to walk to the counter to get the staff’s attention, and they were really surprised when I did that 😒

Pros: Somewhat healthy choice, A variety, Located next to a monorail station

Cons: Horrible food, Bad service, Not worth it

The worst happy cow experience had since I am using this app

They serve you the food so fast, you understand that’s it not made fresh with love at all. Food should be cooked and served with attention and yes with love too. I guess a new app to create: Food made and served with love. You will see it changes everything. In the taste to the digestion, you will feel much better overall. I didn’t understand This restaurant. They know nothing about plants. And it’s like they take the food out of fridge, heat it fast and serve it to you without any smile. And more funny: they have 2 different herbal teas: chamomile and Lavender. The waiters have no idea what these plants looks like. I asked for lavender. They served me chamomile, I could see the chamomile flowers before tasting the tea. But they just could not understand... that chamomile is yellow and lavender is purple.

Convenient location

"Sweet & Sour Crispy Abalone Mushroom" (RM24.9), sweet and sour is very appetizing, pineapple and yellow pepper are especially sweet, I like the crispy abalone mushroom a lot, this dish must be served with rice, so I added "Multi-Grain Rice" (RM3.2), healthy choice~

I haven't eaten Mee Hoon Kueh before, so I ordered this "Organic Mee Hoon Kueh with Organic Black Bean Soup" (RM16.9). Oh, it's like lasagna. It only has a few in the bowl, but it's actually quite full; I like the soup, it tastes very good and full of different ingredients. We drank the whole bowl 😅

We enjoyed our meal

We had pumpkin wedges (delicious!) and a mini steamboat which is not so mini at all and an experience on itself.
We were happy to be getting lots of veggies without too much oil (for the steamboat then) which has been challenging sometimes during our 3 month stay in Malaysia.

They have a nice sitting area and friendly staff.

I did have a little difficulty finding rice dishes on the menu without egg or oyster sauce and which are not spicy. But there are still way more options then in most restaurants ofcourse so I should not complain.

Conclusion: we enjoyed our meal here.

Pros: All vegetarian, Vegan options, Steamboat is fun

Cons: Not as cheap as street food

Eh 🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s expensive and was just okay.

I got the miso soup with brown rice noodles and the first few bites were a-ok but then holy moly, SEAWEED. I’m not a huge fan, but I can still handle seaweed, this was just way too much though. It tasted like I was eating / drinking salt water.

I also got the spring rolls and they were cold inside & the taste was not good. My buddy got the samosas and they were good!

Pros: Big portions

Cons: Spendy, Slow service , Nothing special about the food

Simply delicious!

Asam laksa is something I haven't had/cooked since going vegan so I was especially excited for Simple Life's vegan version. There's a choice of brown rice ramen or bi hoon noodles. I went with the brown rice ramen.

On the menu, they have little pictures to label chef's recommendations, spicy dishes, and dishes containing egg. No pictures for dairy, but the staff were able to confirm if a dish contained dairy or not.

Soup was tasty and quite spicy. The tamarind flavour is what gives it authentic taste. I also loved the chewy texture of the tofu, eggplant, and mock fish. Brown rice ramen was also cooked to a perfect texture in my opinion (I like my noodles a little softer).

Was priced at about 18RM so is more expensive than some of the street food options. Still cheap for an Aussie exchange rate though. Serving size was good but do wish they had put in more noodles and toppings for the amount of soup it came with.

Overall, a good first impression and would definitely visit again to try other items on the menu.

Pros: Helpful staff, quick service too!, Good serving size

Cons: For the amount of soup, expected more noodles, and toppings

Always good!

My partner and I usually stay around Bukit Bintang when visiting KL so we usually end up eating here quite often! The menu is really varied with lots of vegan options, and some items containing egg can easily be made vegan. The food is always nicely presented and fresh, and portion sizes are generous.

Pros: Lots of choice, Friendly staff, Really fresh food

Didn't see it.

Had their Lui Cha (first in the menu), it was mediocre at best. Wanted to give it a second try since people here are so enthousiastic, but their kitchen closes at 21.30. They do serve brown rice.

Delicious! :-)

Pros: Heel erg lekker

Cons: De airco stond iets te koud

While they didn't have as many vegan options as we would have hoped, their food quality and overall selection was great. We were pleasantly surprised with everything we ordered.

Suits me fine

Largely in agreement with most previous reviews - except I arrived just 30 minutes before closing, so the mall was deserted, thus not a problem.

The menu indicated spiciness and which dishes had egg, but did not specify if a dish was vegan, so must ask and hope the server:
1 - really understands what you are asking
2 - truly knows the ingredients of everything that went into every dish.
In a chain like Simple Life, with a huge menu, this seems highly unlikely. Even the kitchen staff may not know, e.g., if the mock fish contains dairy/egg (it often does). That info must come from the source: the menu needs to label vegan dishes. As it was late, I didn't bother asking, just chose a dish without eggs.

I had the seaweed asam laksa set which includes laksa, seasoned brown rice, clear soup, small salad, and sweet. The laksa was ok, even though it didn't achieve that subtle interplay between sweet, sour, and spicy that asam laksa (at its best) is famous for. The seasoned brown rice was very good, would have enjoyed that as a main. All dishes were light and fresh-tasting.

Great to get the authentic flavor of Malaysian cuisine, but without overdosing on oil and salt. Though certainly more expensive than street, stall, or shophouse fare, it was still under US$6, so no more than what I would expect to pay for a restaurant meal in an East Asian metropolis.

Menu looks good, lei cha is something only for green tea lovers

I had only lei cha dish here, I wanted to try it because I had never heard of that. I don´t like food that tastes like green tea, so lei cha soup made of green tea, basil and mint really wasn´t anything for me, but fortunately lei cha came with rice and seven small portions of tofu, peanut and vegetables.

The menu was extensive and there probably was many delicious dishes there, eg curries. Simple Life reminded me very much of BMS Organics restaurant at Klia2 -airport and V-Delight restaurans was very similar too.

I didn´t mind Simple Life being located inside a shopping mall (Lot 10).

Pros: clean, wide menu

Good food, a little expensive for Malaysia

Good food, although a little more expensive for Malaysia and the setting inside a shopping centre is weird.

The staff are friendly and the food is delicious and big portions, but you can find good food for better prices elsewhere.

so many delicious and fresh options

Although it is in a mall, this place does great food and delicious drinks! My vegan partner and I ate here at least three times in four days.. laksa, curry bowl (set menu that comes with side soup, salad and little dessert), the signature dish is fantastic. so many ways to eat matcha! The juices are great too. dishes are labeled clearly if they contain egg. apparently the Marmite dish was awesome. we will miss eating here. Clean. Quick. Healthy. Delicious. Malaysian. And like no other place I've eaten.

Pros: lots of options. light on the oil

Cons: more pricey than on the street?! Ambiance....

Fantastico!

Il ristorante si trova all interno del centro commerciale. La zuppa di verdure e fagioli neri che ho preso era così buona da farmi chiamare il cameriere per comunicarglielo!! I prodotti sono tutti organici e cucinati ad arte. Sensazionale!! Provare per credere :)

Pros: Molte opzioni vegane

Delicious food

I loved this place. The food was not extremely cheap but worth it. Of course the atmosphere isn't special since it's in a mall, but I really enjoyed the presentation of the food and that made up for it. The quality is good and it tasted amazing. The staff was also very friendly and considerate, they double-checked if eggs were okay for example. Would love to go again.

Pros: high quality, healthy food, friendly, considerate staff

Cons: a bit more expensive
