Specialties from Malacca - Edit
We came here for breakfast specifically to try the rice chicken balls which we’d seen the meat versions of everywhere in malacca. They were so so good! The rice had a subtle nutty flavour and the chicken was super realistic. We also tried the duck noodles which were a special on that day and wow! Loved the mock duck, there was also some smoked tofu in there. This place gets busy for a reason!

This place serves chinese and malaysian dishes.

Nice Malaysian food - Edit
My partner and I had a Assam laksa and Mee Rebus (as they were recommended and highly rated on Google review). Honestly, we didn't think it was amazing. It was very cheap though and the staff were really nice. Probably won't go back but it was nice.

Tasty & super cheap - Edit
Insanely good value, freshly prepared meals. The menu is quite large however they are open all morning so they may sell out of several of the options by lunch time (when we went at 1pm none of the rice dishes were available - but there were still plenty of noodle dishes to choose from). Basic premises but friendly staff.
Read morePros: Tasty food, Freshly prepared , Very cheap
Cons: Not open in the evening , Can sell out of some ingredients by lunchtime

Best veg Malaysian food - Edit
Of all the restaurants I've been to in Malaysia, this one beats them all. You get to try local dishes in their veg version, with street food prices (7-10RM, March 2024), including "chicken" rice balls. Very flavourful and good portions!

Pros: Options, Prices
Cons: Only open at lunchtime

Nice options, cheap - Edit
We wanted to try the famous chicken rice balls, they were good! The laksa was a bit weird tasting, as if it had some soapy stuff in it, could be that it is some unknown herb. The owner immediately put a face mask, when we walked in, while there well already other guests sitting, but we were the only foreigners.

Chicken rice - Edit
One of the best places in town to try chicken rice or chicken balls. They have a nice menu and specials that changes each day. The food they serve is delicious and the portions are just right. Friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. A one of a kind place to eat great food.

Was there for brunch around 11am and some dishes were already sold out, including the mee Siam and chicken rice ball. Nevertheless the chicken rice was yummy too. Very friendly owner.

Inexpensive V Chinese - Edit
Very inexpensive vegetarian Chinese restaurant.
Read moreThe chicken and rice balls is a local special. The balls were tasty and, although limited, the chicken was as well. The veggies and noodles and fish head soup weren’t bad either.
You can get three meals here for the price of one at a sit down restaurant but quality takes a bit.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Limited options and protein

It is nice to have that kind of place in Melaka but the fact that it is almost 100% vegan is the only reason why I went there twice. Just because it was convenient. The food is not good but it is cheap so it is still better than nothing.

Good vegan options - Edit
We were welcomed with a big smile. The waiter was super friendly. The food was pretty tasty, we were not a fan of the burger. But the mock chicken rice and the mee we had were really good. They have small and big portions, we took the big one and it was a good filling portion. Be aware that a few dishes do contain dairy, just specify vegan/ no dairy and the waiter will help you with your choice.

Auntie that served us was friendly and helpful! Advised us to order 3 small portions and a soup to try cos we said we wanted to try a lot😂 I advise calling in advance before heading down bc we went down and they were closed the day before.
Read moreFood is rlly affordable and tasty! The chicken rice balls are a must try cos it's a specialty in melaka. We had the mee rebus, wanton mee (just the skin, no fillings!) and the hakka Yong Tau Fu (u get to pick the dishes u want) with tofu. Mee rebus was slightly more sour than the ones I'm used to having but was delicious, my non veg partner slurped it up. Take note of the daily specials so u can choose the right day to come down😜
