A small restaurant tucked away in a basement, friendly staff and amazing sushi.
Read moreVery glad to have the opportunity to try sushi whilst in Japan.
We had the sushi assortment and each piece was creative and delicious.
We also tried the tofu which was so silky and a great dish.
Make sure you stop by if you're in Osaka!

Great place - Edit
Comfy vegan sushi restaurant with nice people working there. There was gluten-free soy sauce and the sushi set I ordered was fully gluten-free. It was very tasty and definitely best sushi I ever had.

Great options and choices. Loved the vegan twist on traditional sushi. My partner isn’t vegan and even he loved it (rated overall 7.5/10).

Delicious vegan & gluten free sushi - Edit
I had a great time at this cozy Japanese sushi restaurant. Everything on the menu is gluten-free and vegan. The atmosphere is really nice, and all the seating is at the bar, which gives it a relaxed and personal feel. The sushi was really tasty, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place!

A must try! - Edit
What an experience! A small, authentic sushi restaurant just a short walk from Shinsaibashi station.
Read moreIt's quite pricey (but well worth it) with single dishes ranging from about ¥450 to ¥880. Mixed plates are available if you want to try a wide selection or for sharing.
A relaxed atmosphere with about 12 seats around the kitchen area, you can watch the chef plate up everything to the sounds of relaxed old school jazz.
Ordering is by qr code, and you're asked to order only one or two items at a time. The staff (all 2 of them) were lovely and clearly love what they do.
This is definitely a restaurant I'd happily go back to.
Pros: Relaxed vibe, Delicious food

Simply amazing! | 紛れもなくお寿司! - Edit
Visited before 14:00, no reservation needed. The lunch menu came with nigiri, gunkan and maki-sushi of the day. All were aesthetically pleasing! As a Japanese, it surprised me how they gave that authentic delicate taste. They creatively recreated seafood-like flavors for some, while others were completely new (super delicious ofc). Definitely recommended 🙌

Pros: Superb vegan sushi, Great atmosphere , Reasonable price

Perfect Sushi - Edit
It is at basement. No big logo at outdoor. I ask the shop next door before I located it.

Lunch set includes a variety of different flavours. Could’ve ate more, but there was no option for a la carte ordering, at least at lunch time.

One of a kind - Edit
Quite simply the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had, better than most omakase. Transformative usage of ingredients and impeccable presentation are too good to miss, this is definitely worth a visit. The 10 piece special was incredible and the matcha yokan was a delight. The staff and ambience were fantastic— would highly recommend a visit if you’re in Osaka.

Delectable Vegan Sushi - Edit
So happy to have found and tried Shojin Sushi Minamo for our last dinner in Japan. The meal did not disappoint and my husband and I enjoyed every bite! We ordered the steamed soy meat skewers, a couple of assorted sushi plates, eggplant nigiri, extra mushroom nigiri, and a 2-piece roll. All delicious!

Best Japanese food this trip! - Edit
Took forever to find the place as the location was wrong on Google Maps and here. Should be fixed now. Look for the white entranceway with stairs down (see photos)
Read moreFood was delicious. Finally some complex flavors. Most of the vegan I'd found in Japan was too simple for me, so this was a nice welcome change.
Atmosphere was nice. Smooth jazz and air conditioned. Not too crowded (tho it's tiny, only 15 people or so could fit). Was a really nice place to relax and enjoy. All seating was at the bar and I enjoyed watching the chefs prepare things.
You order from the menu, which is only in Japanese. There are photos, but best to use a browser with translation built-in. Ordering is convenient once you cross the language barrier.

Very Good Sushi - Reasonable Price - Edit
Vegan sushi tasted great. I got the 10 piece platter, gyoza, and sesame tofu. It all tasted great and the presentation was great too. It almost looked like it uses real fish but it's all made from plants.

Great Vegan Sushi - Edit
I was really impressed by this vegan sushi experience. There is a wide variety of vegetable based offerings, from carrot "salmon" to kabocha "tamagoyaki" sushi. It's the first of its kind in Osaka, and has an excellent location steps away from Shinsaibashi station. After establishing Paprika Shokudo and Shinsekai Paprika for 10+ years before, the ownership has created a fully new experience here, and it surely will be a must-stop in Osaka. Visit when you can!

Lovely high-class feel - Edit
I am super excited to have a vegan sushi place in Osaka. While most of the toppings are vegetables rather than mock meats, they do offer protein options like skewers and tofu (and I think the fake tamago).
