Read moreThey served vegan bread selection with some topping. Breads were delicious.
For starting dish Roasted butternut squash with black garlic, miso & roasted seeds, the dish was cold dish. It was not the best dish what I have eaten. I ordered without miso.
Main dish I choose was Saffron risotto with fennel, I really liked it!
It was soft, not too oily/creamy and not too dry either!:)
And it was big portion size, and that was only positive thing!
They can make vegan dishes, when asked. Like Saffron risotto is usually with cheese.
Atmosphere were cozy, good customer service and would go back but Shelter is not in same level with Yesyesyes restaurant.

Fine dining in beautiful Katajanokka - Edit
I went to dine with collegues and I was happy to hear they serve vegan menu in this restaurant. I had lovely cherry-black pepper cocktail and house bread with licourice herb tasting spread before 4 course menu, which were so good I forgot to take a picture 😅 The first starter with seasonal vegetables and dessert were delicious, but the main course (with quinoa and pumpkin) was a bit boring and could easily prepare something similar at home myself.. I got full, but I think the vegan menu should be cheaper comparing to ”the regular one” with meat, dairy and fish. I have had a better vegan fine dining experiences (in Grön and Maannos for example), but I was happy to visit here and might come back sometime!

Fine dining experience in Helsinki! - Edit
Shelter offers a vegan version of its menu with a choice of 3, 4 or 5 courses. The chefs adapt the menu on request, so you can enjoy a vegan feast. I took the 4-course menu, with two starters, a main course and dessert. All the dishes are based on a variety of seasonal vegetables, and are very well prepared and tasty. Dessert was an exquisite lemon tart. The whole experience was very pleasant, as the location lent itself to it. Prices are a little expensive, but in accordance with Finland's standing.
