Entire menu veganizable!

Delicious food with a bit of a goofy spin- this is not traditional Filipino food, it’s what you might get if you let a chef with the munchies loose in a well stocked Filipino kitchen at 3am. Ha ha, put some fries in my burrito! Why not?

Pros: Everything on the menu can be made vegan!, Fluffy vegan “eggs”, Garlic rice

Cons: Can be really loud inside (but there’s a backyard)

Amazing vegan burritos

This place rocks!
Very clean inside and outside- as well as restrooms.
The guy at the counter was also super friendly and informative on all things vegan. Our food came out after about 5 minutes- very quick.
I ordered the burrito with vegan chicken (soy based) and added vegan egg (just egg).
The burrito tasted AMAZING. Truly one of the best burritos I’ve had in a very long time. The chicken was delicious and cooked so well. They also did not skimp on chicken and egg. It was jam packed!
Also tried the POG juice which was delicious.
Prices were a little high but worth it for me to go every once in a while.
Only downside is that there is absolutely no spice. I got medium and it was very mild (still yummy though) and my husband got the hottest one and said there was absolutely no heat so just be aware of that!

Amazing food

They now offer vegan chicken (in addition to the amazing tofu) and the addition to make any item vegan (vegan sour cream, cheese, etc.). My favorite place for a burrito. Highly recommend!

Listed here as vegan, but not vegan!

I was in the area, so went to their food truck location for lunch. I asked if they were vegan, they said no, they don't have a vegan menu, but the option they have is tofu or beans as main protein on anythingon their menu. I don't take chances like that with non vegan food trucks, so I had to pass on this place. Really disappointed!

Cons: Not Vegan

AMAZING BURRITOS

An all vegan food truck version of the Senior Sisig chain! I ordered the "pork" California burrito and it was one of the best burritos I've ever had. Such fresh flavors and sauces. I wish all their chains had the vegan options though.

Veganized version of the restaurant's entire catalogue

Finally got a chance to check out Señor Sisig Vegano which opened in Nov 2020. The original and very meat-heavy Señor Sisig started out as a food truck in 2010, blew up, and eventually built a brick and mortar in the Mission. Its newest offering is a separate truck that veganizes the restaurant’s entire catalogue. Insane. And like really good for my belly.

On this first visit, went for their crunch-a-dilla special with tocino. Loved tocino as a kid and had never had a vegan version. It was fine, but was it the right choice for the ‘dilla, probably not. Better off with the chorizo or one of the sisigs. For the next visit, I’m going for the OG—the Señor Sisig Burrito. Stay tuned!

Con turned Pro: use the 12-15 mins prep time to explore the Mission, arguably the most interesting neighborhood in the City

Pros: Take it to Dolores Park just two blocks away

Cons: Pricey

Filipino food veganized!

This food truck is amazing. Food I've never tried before is suddenly accessible to me! I can order anything - "pork, beef, chicken, chorizo, tofu" and it's all veganized. I love the opportunity to try foods around the world without having to compromise my diet. Delicious and highly recommend!!

Loved the flavor

I like the chicken option best and then the pork. I didn’t love the tocino as much.

The vegan gods have answered our prayers!

Automatic 5 stars for not just giving us veg-heads one option, but for veganizing the entire menu in food truck form. I’ve been eating my way through all the glorious offerings and if you keep reading, can probably spare you from ordering the wrong thing.

If you’re just dipping your toes into plant-based fare, stick with the OG senor sisig burrito. Most other things have vegan versions of dairy products (sour cream, egg, cheese,...) that might put off omnivores.

If you’ve already got a taste for vegan alternatives, order whatever the hell you want and it’ll probably be dope. I wasn’t big into the tomatoes in the silig burrito, but the egg is tasty and I’ll prob add it to something else next time.

As for proteins, the chicken reins supreme; it’s smokey/peppery, and the most like the real meat version (take this with a grain of salt, as I haven’t eaten real meat in a decade). I found the chorizo to be too sweet and there were weird, inedible strands I had to pull out of my mouth. I was also surprised to see they didn’t carry tofu as a protein, since that is the one vegan-friendly item at the brick n’ mortar and it’s quite tasty.

Pros: The fact that this even exists , Mock chicken , No need to choose between a burrito and fries

Cons: Only open on wknds (for now), Chorizo is weird, They don’t take cash

Señor Sisig but better!

Get your Señor Sisig on without feeling so full that you can’t enjoy car-free Valencia after!! I LOVE that they pretty much offer their entire regular menu items but now cruelty-free. I’d become a regular since they started showing up to OTG back in 2010 or 2011(?) and really missed them since giving up meat and dairy.

We ordered online and picked up and the food was available in less than 20 mins. Social distanced picnic tables available if you want to eat your food there safely.

Their “chicken” might be soy curls but it’s done very well. My partner loved their “pork” and said he appreciated that it was less greasy than the dead animal version. I’ve missed tocino a lot since going vegan and will definitely try next time!

Pros: The Crunch-A-Dilla is a must try! , Excellent selection of proteins incl “tocino”, Skip the line and order on their website

Cons: More seating if possible, Only open 3 days we week. , Brick & mortar should offer 1-2 vegan selections

Reinvent...

Excited not only to be the first review but as a HappyCow Ambassador of San Francisco to create their page and welcome Señor Sisig to the vegan community. They were first established in 2010 serving a variety of Filipino & Mexican infused taco truck eats from burritos, tacos, specialty fries, and platters. Fast forward to 2020 as they reinvent their menu to become 100% plant-based/vegan and open a dedicated food truck, "Senor Sigig Vegano", to the community and others.

Now before I went vegan and when I worked DTSF in the SoMa, I use to go to their truck on 2nd Street, Mission. My go-to: Spicy Pork Sisig Cali Burrito (Cali Burrito, a rendition of a San Diego favorite). So what did I get at their all new Señor Sisig Vegano? That's right...the Spicy "Pork" Sisig Cali Burrito. Let me tell you...when you have to stop and look closely at it to make sure it's not meat, you know they cracked the code on creating something close to real. The same spices and flavor with the gauc, vegan cheese and sour cream? What we say in the Bay..."SMACK!!" And they provide the EXACT same menu as they do in their restaurant and other food trucks but veganized. I'd give them 6 stars for nostalgia points but I'll max it to 5 stars. Welcome to the community, Señor Sisig Vegano!!
