Amazing find - went back many times - Edit
"Paul's Vegan" is still operating in El Nido - he's had to relocate temporarily and will move to a bigger place soon so ask around for him! Phone number on menu attached (oops, missed the one with burgers on)
Read moreThe homemade chickpea patty in the big Ultimate Vegan Burger is yummy. Same patty type used in the veggie burger but with milk buns.
Spicy and coconut tofu and aubergine are also yum.
Very friendly guy, salamat po, kuya Paul!

The photos were taken at his stall on Real Street, just east of Osmeña Street. But life moves and he could have set up elsewhere now

All amazing! - Edit
This little 5 seat spot is a sweet one indeed. Paul can be a little stand offish and rude but it’s just his nature. He makes up for the small flaw by having some of the best vegan and veggie food on the island.
Read moreWe ordered the tofu steak rice bowl and the flavors blew our socks off! The marinated tofu was to die for as well as the seasoned rice. We had to come back a second time just to have more.
The spicy potato curry was delicious and had authentic flavors.
The spicy ramen was a little too spicy for me but the noodles were cooked to perfection!
There are a lot of options for such a small place and most of not all can be made vegan.
The hours here are based on when Paul is there and if he wants to cook or not haha but it’s worth the trouble just for that tofu steak rice bowl.

Good food if you have time - Edit
I had vegan burger which was great and big enough, but the sauce could be improved (ketchup based...).
Read moreIm looking forward to going there again and try something else.
Need to change the opening time. It opens from 7pm
Cons: Not a confortable place to eat (4 or 5 seats only), It took us 45 minutes to order and get food

Excellent - Edit
Paul is the best cook ever ! We came almost every day during our (long) stay in El Nido. I am vegan and my friend is vegetarian so it was heaven on earth for us. Prices are very good too. Food is so delicious. We tried both huge burgers, both fries, ramens, tofu steak, eggplant steak, tofu rice with coconut milk... It’s definitely the best place in town. You can sit at the bar where there are 5 chairs. He works alone so yes it might take some time if people ordered before you but it’s really worth the wait. His opening hours are : Monday 5pm-11pm. Tuesday to Saturday 9am-3pm and 5pm-11pm. Sunday 9am-12pm and 3pm-11pm.

Huge burgers - Edit
The place is really small, you can only seat at the bar (3-4 people). The owner is super nice and friendly. We ordered vegan burgers and my partner loved it but for me it was a bit tasteless. We’d love to come back to try vegan ramens - they are not served as soups but as noodles. You can also have a beer here (in a can). The prices are really cheap.

Really tasty burgers and food. Tried a few items and was not disappointed. The chips were nice and crispy and the burgers and tofu steak and rice were flavoursome!

Sure it’s wonderful, just was hardly open! - Edit
The opening times may be wrong, after speaking to Paul he said his normal hours are 7am-1pm then 3pm-11pm. However we tried a couple of times during these hours and couldn’t find him. When we did pretty much everything was sold out so get in there earlier rather than later!

Cons: Soft opening hours, Dishes run out fast since he’s by himself

Best Place in Town for Veggies and Vegans - Edit
Came here every day during my stay.
Read moreI tried and can recommend: Banana Burger, Spicy Tomato Noodles (customized with chickpea balls once), Falafel Burger, Fries.
Except the omelette and cheese sticks everything is or can be made vegan.
Paul changed his business to this snack place early 2017.
He knows what vegan is and you can discuss everything with him.
Paul makes everything from scratch - this could take some time if there are other people there.
If there’s a power blackout Paul cooks with a little torch and it tastes the same.

A passionate chef that clearly knows the difference between vegan and vegetarian. Tried the veggie coconut curry, stir fried ramen noodles, mushroom burger and eggplant balls.. Great price value IMHO, and a cool guy we can support!

Not blown away - Edit
Paul seemed lovely, but we weren't blown away by the food! The burger was ok, if you added chilli sauce to it! But fair play to him for having this little space with veggie food 😊

Delicious balls - Edit
I tried the eggplant balls and they were delicious. Unfortunately the burgers were not available at 12.30pm which I actually wanted to try. It might not be every day like this. The lovely owner has told me that he will open a bigger store in 1-2 months time with a bigger menu.

Good food, good size, reasonable prices - Edit
The taste was good and serving size big enough that you don’t have to order more. The place is small and it’s not very good looking. We had the ramen which is not ramen at all just noodles with veggies and sauce with a very random flavor. We also ordered sweet potato fries which were boiled instead of fried and the ketchup is very weird non tomato based which is something weird with red color that taste like candy or something else but not ketchup.

Love this place and friendly owner too! Had falafel burger and chickpea burger - both were similar but delicious, filling and bun was nice too. Pricing good - small place with only two chairs but sweet.

Best balls I ever had - Edit
Was closed on two occasions I showed up but I waited around the second time and was asked to come back in an hour. Paul put a lot of time and effort into making my eggplant balls and they were perfect. So crispy on the outside and almost creamily smooth inside. If I were in El Nido longer I would definitely try more things on his menu. I hope more people can come here so the place can maintain a steady stream of customers and business because it really is great.

Paul's Burgers 😍🌱 - Edit
Paul was fantastic and so were his burgers. He had a thorough understanding of vegan food and was enthusiastic to share his story. A cute little shack with great prices that gives you the piece of mind that you're not eating animals.

Vegan Burger Heaven - Edit
This place was my savior while I was on this carnivorous island! Paul learned his mastery of vegan cooking from an Italian vegan chef. He’s extremely hospitable and every dish is made with love.
Read morePancit Bihon—a tad bland, but plentiful and delicious
Banana burger—(made with chickpea and banana) sounds weird, but it was delicious; definitely one of my favorites
Falafel Burger—good, very flavorful
Mushroom Burger—ok, the mushrooms made it a bit soft
Paul was very accommodating which was something most restaurants/people were lacking. One of my friends asked for gluten-free and he gladly accommodated.
Pros: banana burger
Cons: go before or after lunch/dinner time as seating is, limited to 3 stools!

A very small place with just one bench to sit with 3 persons. Serves good and big only vegan burgers (or with cheese) and small side dishes. Cheap for El Nido.

Well good - Edit
We ate there on two occasions on our last day because it was absolutely delicious, basically everything is vegan if you don’t put cheese in it. We tried the chickpea, aubergine and mushroom burger, a falafel sandwich and eggplant balls with homemade banana ketchup and we can’t stop raving about it, don’t doubt about eating there!
