Animaros!

Simply delicious - Edit
I went to this restaurant with a non vegetarian friend and she loved it too. The food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Best vegan cakes I've ever had. The restaurant has a good size and is very comfortable.

Great food, cozy, friendly atmosphere - Edit
I had the La Morchada burger. It was a beast. Very tasty vegan mayo. I also liked the presentation of the plate. The dollops of hummus were shaped like flowers.
Read moreAlso had the cucumber smoothie. Smoothie was alright imo. The ginger bits had all settled to the bottom of the smoothie. Perhaps could use a little more blending, but that's just my preference.
Prices are on point for what I'll pay.
Pros: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, Friendly staff who speaks English, Restaurant caters to your allergies
Cons: Downstairs seating was a little cold in winter

Nice staff, adequate food - Edit
I had dinner here with my partner at peak dinner time, we snapped up the last table without having to wait and found the service quick and friendly. I had a burrito -- while it was tasty and felt nourishing after piecing together lunch at a non-veg-friendly place, I felt that it was something I could easily make at home. My partner had the olive and lentil albondigas that came with a DELICIOUS sweet mustard sauce, but we didn't love the cold/lukewarm vegetables it was served with. We were too stuffed in the end to try their brownie with vegan ice cream but it looked amazing.

Beautiful presentation - Edit
Gorgeous in all senses! So glad we went here on our first night in Madrid. Such a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and very patient staff despite all our questions! We both had the Gossip Girl burger (which is only vegan on request). Great that this place offers gluten free bread option for the burgers. Both polished off our meals so speedily and loved every aspect of it - from the courgettes in creamy sauce topping the burger, to the beetroot houmous and the green foam on the accompanying potatoes! Just delightful. I’m sure we’ll be back during our week here :)

Nice, but haphazard and not very tasty - Edit
Small place, cosy, friendly waiter (although because I was solo he tried to fob me off with the bad table. This happens a lot to the solo traveller!) They didn't several things I ordered, but we got there eventually, and was pleasant but not special. Why does Spanish veggie food lack flavour?

Very very disappointing, do not recommend - Edit
Me and my sister were excited to go as the food looked pretty nice from photos we’d seen. We walked in there, weren’t served or asked if we wanted drinks for 10 minutes!!! The place was empty so being busy was no excuse. The waitress disappeared for ages that even if we wanted to get her attention to order, we couldn’t!!! A couple walked in and then left after being sat there for 5 minutes with no assistance. Lucky for us we had only ordered water, 5 minutes later it still hadn’t arrived so we told her to forget about it and went elsewhere. Would not recommend there are many other options to try in Madrid.

Muy rica - Edit
We went for very late lunch/early dinner so it was very quiet but it suited us. The food was delicious and fresh. I took 3 friends who had never been to a vegan/veggie restaurant before and they were so happy with it!! I had tofu to start, the nostra terra burger and chocolate mousse to finish - all wonderful and at a good price. Waitress was friendly as well! Highly recommend.

Yummy and affordable! - Edit
Came with two meat-eating friends and all of us enjoyed our burgers. The potatoes on the side were delicious as well! Picturesque and definitely recommended. The only thing I’d complain about is the cake I had was a tad dry, but I appreciated their vegan desserts nonetheless.

Hit or Miss - Edit
Eaten here several times. Sometimes food is delicious, other times just so so. Today the menu of the day had a quinoa paella that was so salty that it was unbearable to eat. I took a couple of bites and left the rest on the plate. When asked if I liked it, I explained the problem but wasn't offered the other menu option or any type of restitution. I still ended up paying full price and left hungry. With so many veggie and vegan restaurants in Madrid, I'm not sure if I'll be back here...

La comida es muy rica y a precio razonable. El lugar es agradable. La atención fue más bien desatención. Todo a destiempo, dejando enfriar parte del pedido y evidentemente olvidando la otra parte.

Not for me - Edit
I went to Sanissimo n another area of Madrid and loved the food so I thought this restaurant would have been another gem..but not my cup of tea.
Read moreTuesday lunchtime and I was the only customer.Air con was off and the place was an oven (no outside seating area).
I had a look at the Menu and I shivered:7€ for a pudding and 5€ for a smoothie?I normally get a three course meal for that..
I got up and left. The staff was so engrossed in conversation they didn't even notice...
Not impressed
Pros: Nothing for me
Cons: Expensive

Disappointment - Edit
The interior is nice and trendy.
Read moreThe food was one big disappointment.
We ordered one red fruit smoothie, we got a light pink, aweful and bland tasting drink. When I asked if this was the same like in the picture in the menu, the waiter said "Yes. But I can't explain in English why it looks different" his English was excellent for every other customer that came after us.
We also ordered a spinach pasty, which arrived first and was soft and greasy. No crispy crust to be found. Taste was ok. But salty.
Then the beetburger came. Bread was fresh, but waiter asked us if we wanted to upgrade the burger pizzalike, with foccacia bread for €1,- extra. We wanted that, but when the burger came it was regular bread. Since I wasn't sure, I asked if it was foccacia and he said: "No." looked as if I asked something stupid and walked away. The burger was also just salty, but ok. They served it with cooked broccoli, which, I hoped was supposed to give a fresh kick. It was, guess what: salt.
My meal couldn't have been more of a disappointment than this.
I would have given this joint a 2🌟 rating if the waiter with the black and blonde dyed hair would have smiled just once, or would have taken the time to ask us how our food was...but as that didn't happen and Happy Cow doesn't allow 1🌟 ratings, here's a 2🌟 for Sanissimo.
I can't recommend this place, as I've had far better meals than the ones I was served here today.

Pros: Nice interior, English menu
Cons: Everything tastes just salt, Pictures don't show what you get, Waiter unfriendly
