Nos gustó mucho el sitio, y la comida estaba muy buena. Pedimos wraps y hamburguesas, y ambos estaban muy, muy buenos. De postre probamos la tarta de zanahoria, y nos gustó un montón. La comida es abundante y las personas que nos atendieron fueron amables.

Read moreEVERYTHING is labeled - for instance mustard, for all of you that have always needed an easy way to tell if your meal contains mustard. That said, their extensive labeling isn't very accurate, for instance the vegan label is missing from many dishes, which kind of defeats the purpose of their out of control labeling system. Only a few dishes are actually labeled vegan.
We didn't get the veggie burgers, which may have been the right move? We did get a wrap, which was decent, and the meatballs, which were absurd.
Also, a restaurant that is "both vegetarian and vegan" is actually called a "vegetarian" restaurant.
Finally, their baby high chair is more of a baby high dive board, or a baby amusement park tube slide. Don't put your baby in that thing.

Although the food was nice the service was too slow. We had 2 burgers (good portions but too expensive) and a dessert that never came. After 45 minutes waiting for it we just cancelled it and left. We lost 2 hours there for a lunch!

I tried this restaurant last week but reviewed the wrong place! I returned after revisiting Madrid - and have tried numerous meals. I began with the vegan lasagne, which I highly recommend, but in all the food is freakin amazing so depending what you feel like.., you can’t go wrong! They have a number of great herbal teas and kombucha, and don’t forget desert! Staff are super sweet.

Read moreThe food in offer is “fast food” style, mainly made of burgers, wraps and salads and a couple of “mains”, so I would call this place a “bar” rather than a “restaurant”.
The young lad that waited on us really struggled with his Spanish, he wasn’t able to tell us what the exact ingredients of the different dishes were (beware if you suffer from any food intolerance!) and he couldn’t identify which were vegan and which vegetarian. It took him several attempts to finally bring the drinks we ordered... It was clear he had just begun to work there, but it felt very unprofessional.
We finally managed to order the aubergine lasagna, lentil “albóndigas”, “albóndigas especial” (not albóndigas but two small patties instead) and a salad. We all found the food just OK and the portions on the smallish side, which made a dish at an average of 12EUR slightly expensive. No tap water available = very unecological.
Bric-à-brac decoration of the premises, feeling crowded. Music playing 80’s hits (which I love) but way too loud to allow for a conversation. We didn’t managed to have the volume lowered, despite asking a few times.
There are much finer restaurants nearby and with the vegan/vegetarian dining options in Madrid on the rise, I find that this place is definitely not worth a second visit (maybe not even a first one).
I have just realised it is actually a franchise, which to me explains a few things.

There was so many good reviews about the place - I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the eggplant lasagna to go. It was not hot - slightly warmer than room temp, and had a funny slightly sour taste to it. Didn't taste fresh. Felt like bad microwaving. It wasn't busy - only one table dining in.
Read moreI went back the next day and I ordered the Hipster burger to go. When she placed the container in my hand it wasn't hot - only slightly warm. My hotel is only 5 minutes away - I just microwaved it. It would be a good burger if the patty was crispy and hot.
Idk - it took maybe 20-25 min to get my burger and I had to reheat it in the microwave 5 min later. It was busier today, but still.....
Anyone else experience cold food? Maybe I went on bad days?

Sanissimo is located in the heart of Madrid. They have a good selection of beautiful yummy vegan food, including burgers and dessert. Nice and creative decor. I highly recommend Sanissimo.

We ordered the vegetarian meatballs and feta lasagna. Both were delicious and with wonderful fresh ingredients. Everything was above expectations, and we’ll definitely be returning to try more!

Excellent food. Big servings. Lovely presentation. Staff was really nice, helpful and the service was fast. A bit pricey maybe (10-12€ for dish), and I can't stand the slate plates. Totally recommended, though.

Horrible el trato. Fuimos a cenar y prácticamente nos echaron por la chulería y la falta de educación; Ante todo, ni nos dijeron buena tardes, ni hola, ni nada. Luego, nos dijeron que había mucho tiempo de espera para cenar y cuando le preguntamos que cuanto estimaban nos contestó: "No soy adivino" con tanta chulería.. Y luego añadió: "Esto no es un McDonald's"

Me atendió un chico que no sonrío ni una sola vez. Sólo se rió cuando le pedí el zumo sin pajita porque le hizo gracia preguntándome cómo me lo iba a beber y le dije que con la boca como tomamos de un vaso, y me lo trajo con pajita, y se la hice retirar diciéndole que no quería que ensuciara una pajita porque está el Planeta lleno de plástico.

Después le pedí si me podía llenar mi botella de agua por favor y me puso mala cara.
La verdad que una pena. Espero no volver y si vuelvo en un par de años que ya no esté ese chico porque me doy la vuelta.
