Who woulda thought?! - Edit
It seems crazy that a smokehouse would have such great vegan options, but wow! The food was good - not great - but I was so impressed that they even had it! I got the brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese and both were good. I’d stop back if I were in the area. It’s also a really cool part of town.

Tasty food! - Edit
I sought this ace out and got there early after reading that they had added a vegan menu recently. We ate at 6 pm on a weekday at they were only out of the vegan brisket. I got the vegan pulled pork sandwich with the vegan mac and cheese. The pulled pork was really tasty but a few pieces were over cooked (burned). The vegan mac was just okay. It didn’t taste cheesy - more like noodles with a somewhat tasty sauce on them. The pasta was also over cooked for my taste. Id definitely come back and try the other options because it was a unique spot SJ.

It’s okay - Edit
Worth checking out if you’re in the area and are with non-vegan friends. They were out of the brisket so I got the ribs. They were simply not my thing. I took a few bites and ended up bring the rest home (which I later tossed). The mac n chz was decent but dry. It’s in a party area of SJ. I may have been too sober for that, haha. They are crushing it with service.

Super good!!! - Edit
This was an unexpected surprise for sure! I happened to be looking through Happy Cow and was intrigued. I didn’t see any reviews or photos but clicked on the website anyways and was pleasantly surprised at their menu! They have a lot of vegan options, a vegan chef, and cook everything separately! I ordered the “pulled pork” sliders and “cheddar brisket” sandwich. They were both delicious but the sliders were my favorite!
