Good But They Miss the Mark

I called earlier in the day to ask them about their pasta and the manager on-duty (11 am 6/3/24) and asked which of their pastas were vegan and she told me none. I tried to explain very few pastas are egg pastas, but this woman did not understand or listen to me. I went to the restaurant prior to meeting my friends, got a glass of wine for Happy Hour. Their Happy Hour wine is incredibly cheap ($3). If I lived closer I would be doing Happy Hour here all the time. By arriving early and enjoying Happy Hour, I was able to convince the bartender to look at the back of the angel hair pasta and it is vegan. I had explained to him that the major ingredients in most pasta is semolina and water. I ordered the Vegetarian Bolognese over angel hair which was good but not spectacular. The menu failed to disclose that there is zucchini and squash in the sauce which is not good to me. There are veggies that are good, but mushy veggies don’t cut it for me. I would have preferred the marinara pasta and added the impossible burger and mushrooms. Honestly, I’d say they are a solid 3.5 stars.

Pros: Happy Hour, Wait staff including bartenders , The red sauce is excellent

Cons: The manager on duty when I called, More vegan options listed, Vegan & gluten free options are combined on menu

I am so grateful Salute has options.

I really appreciate the separate vegan menu that Saluti offers. It would be awesome to see them offer some kind of vegan butter, or cheese substitute as well. But overall, the burger, and Bolognese are great!
