Bakery
Vegetarian bakery and hostel in the tourist area of La Mariscal since the late-1990s. Bakes without egg and offers vegan options. As of May 2018 the shop sells bakery goods only and no longer serving meals.

The best vegetarian breakfast - Edit
Whenever I arrive in Quito Ecuador, I stay in this hostel, which is run by a vegetarian couple. And a delicious vegetarian breakfast is included with a hamburger and a variety of fruits, granola, yogurt, etc.

Nice place for a dessert - Edit
I had a really good apple strudel;-) They have different cookies and pastries, only some of them are vegan, you have to ask. The owner was really friendly and explained everything to me.

Beautiful food for a price - Edit
We stopped here after lunch at Formosa, another restaurant a couple of buildings away. The restaurant is airy and beautiful. We only ordered the vegan Apple strudel. It was flaky and delicious, but expensive - $2.95, about 3x the price of the vegan strudel at Oki Eco Market downtown.

Great B&B, phenomenal breakfast! - Edit
We stayed a total of 8 days at Sakti and loved it!
Read moreThe location in the Marsical area is very convenient, right in the tourist district. And yet, the hotel is very quiet. The breakfast was PHENOMENAL, among the best I had in South America. It was different every day, but always two courses and made vegan on request. I don't think that non guests can order it, so stay there, you can book on their website.
Pros: Fantastic breakfast
Cons: No breakfast on Sundays

Good food and accommodation - Edit
This is a hare krishna style restaurant and B&B. The menu of the day was not vegan so I had a vegan burger, which was very tasty. I also stayed here one night and the rooms were lovely and quiet compared to the surrounding area. Breakfast was included and the owner made mine vegan. It was a good sized breakfast as well.

Sakti, Quito - Edit
This place is another vego restaurant in the Mariscal area. This one has been in existence longer than most going back to the late 1990s. They have also recently expanded their business now also offering accomm in a hostal / guest house. There were no vacancies when I tried to get in last night so I can't comment on what the accomm is like.
Read moreThe restaurant itself is quite big, lots of tables. They offer a menu del dia for a bargain $3.25. They also offer empanadas, lasagne and some sort of a mushroom gratin type dish. The menu del dia was vegan when I went, the other dishes I mentioned were not. They also offer a wide selection of cakes.
Pros: Vegan friendly, Inexpensive
