Great food - Edit
I love when you ask as ordering “please make these vegan” and as your server drops things off they confirm “there was a note on these to make them vegan, and they are, straight off the menu- so it’s been double checked and its all vegan but don’t hesitate if you have any problems to let me know!”

Less options than stated by the last review, but such tasty options!
Pros: Great service, Great views and venue, Chick’n burger and chips were so tasty
Cons: Not as many options as last review stated

Update to their menu removed vegan options - Edit
If you're reading options of Vegan Fish and Chips - Sorry, you're too late. They've removed this menu item. The only vegan options now are Chips and Brussel Sprouts share plate.
Read moreI've given them an extra star because they make good chips.
They lost 4 stars because they removed the absolute best vegan fish and chips I've ever had! Shame as this place used to be so awesome for a beer and food.

Such a shame. We were heading there tomorrow for the fish and chips. So sad. Thanks for the heads up.

Reduced vegan options 😔 - Edit
Limited vegan options on the menu, chips, a sharer Brussel sprouts (!!!!) dish or a burger. The burger was tasty, chips good (I'm afraid I didn't brave the sprouts!). And very friendly service.

OK at best - Edit
This venue was flagged by Happy Cow as 'vegan friendly', it sort of was. There were only two vegan options on the menu: Crispy Brussel sprouts, which I love but are hardly a meal, and a vegan burger, which was very ordinary. It consisted of a commercially-made patty, reconstituted potato chips and a pathetic excuse for a salad, two pieces of sliced tomato and some shredded lettuce. The best things were the 0% alcohol wine, which tasted like the real thing, and the prompt service. The worst were the sticky table and the loud noise which made conversation almost impossible. I won't be going to the Sail and Anchor again for a long while.

Great pub meal in Freo! - Edit
Great to see so many vegan options on the menu. Had the fish and chips- was pretty good, they could work on the flavouring of the banana blossom to make it more fishy, maybe add seaweed or something. Otherwise great- chips were delicious and salad and lemon aioli were great additions.
