Nice restaurant but some issues - Edit
I visited Sage based on the recommendations but found it disappointing. I ordered a pizza that arrived undercooked (middle was doughy) and a bit bland. I also realized partway through the meal that my water glass had lipstick on it (I do not wear lipstick), which is particularly concerning given the current pandemic conditions.

We came here at about 9am, and it was pretty empty. We had the french toast, blueberry pancakes, and buffalo cauliflower, all of which were really tasty. Great choice if you’re looking for a vegan breakfast in Pasadena!

Food was great and I can’t wait to visit again and try more off the menu! We ordered the Nachos, which were awesome! For my main I ordered the Tomato & Garlic pizza and it was so good - so nice to have a good vegan pizza option. My boyfriend ordered the Buffalo Wrap which was also really great flavors and textures. I liked that there was more stuffing/filling than wrap, good proportions. Loved the French fries too. Serving sizes were big so even though it seems pricey you are getting a good amount!

The “locally sustained and produced” menu is extensive and seasonal, there is something for every mood! The potato broccoli pierogis were phenomenal, and upgrading the baked mac & cheese with avocado and buffalo sauce was a winning choice for sure. You can see that they grow lettuces, etc. on the patio which overlooks the cute One Colorado court yard. They work with local farms to use local, organic produce, and are so creative with every dish! Also houses KindKreme, raw plant based ice cream!

Read moreWe had Mac n Cheese and a Bowl of Soul. Both were very good and flavorful. Typical vegan meals, but presented just a little bit nicer than most places. I recommend Sage, but it was pricier due to it's location.
I mistakenly ordered the $7 grilled sweet potatoes, waste of money for a few sweet potato chunks.
Stick with the meals and enjoy.

Some of the best food in Los Angeles. We ordered the jalapeño poppers, which came with 4 and some dipping sauces. They had some heat but were so delicious. They were filled with a vegan cream cheese mixture. We also had the triple cauliflower which came with buffalo cauliflower, sweet and sour cauliflower, and bbq cauliflower and ranch dip. So delicious! The plate is huge and enough for two people to split as a meal. We definitely will be back.

We really enjoyed the outdoor seating - the ambiance here is great! The food was solid, with nice variety on the menu. The jalapeño poppers were really good and my Goatless Greek salad was awesome. My husband says his Indian pizza was just ok but he still enjoyed it. He really enjoyed the beer selection, and I had a great vodka infused cocktail that was a special off menu. All in all a really nice dining experience in a pretty spot.

This was my first time at Sage, and I did not expect to have such a great experience. I ordered the buffalo pizza, which had cauliflower “wings” on top. Wow, it was the best thing ever!!! Sage is also located in such a cute part of Pasadena, and the entire restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend coming here, they have many tasty options.

I've been to Sage twice: once eat-in, once take-out. The menu is extensive and covers about every comfort food I could want. I've had the street tacos (now my favorite meal), the banh mi sandwich (very tasty), and cauliflower wings with spicy buffalo sauce (which came with the best "ranch" I've ever had, actual ranch included). It's definitely a meal I have to decide to treat myself to--it's on the pricey side. That being said, the food and atmosphere are so worthwhile that I'm trying to budget it in as often as I can.

This is a lovely restaurant with outdoor seating and delicious food. I had the spicy mac n cheese and it was spicier than I expected, which I loved! The quinoa corn cakes were also awesome, but I was disappointed with the donut we had.

Boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s Day and wow this location blew me away! I’ve been to the other location at echo park and thought that one was nice, but the ambiance of this one is 10/10. I ordered the mole bowl with plantain while the bf got got the spicy avocado Mac and cheese. Both dishes were delicious and our server was nice and attentive despite the amount of people there that day. I’d definitely come back again in the future. I’m just happy they have a location much closer to me now.
