Very nice atmosphere

The food is terrific! Servers are always helpful and friendly.
Restaurant has a 90minute maximum stay, but that's plenty of time and they don't make you feel rushed.

Pros: Delicious food , Vegan options , Wait staff is great!

Cons: Hard to get last minute reservations

Thai with vegan options

My friend and I recently checked out Sabai Café for the first time during a weekday evening. Our friends recommended it and we would we believe the hype....Chuck D and Flava Flav of Public Enemy said not too yet that was in a different context. We showed up at 6:15pm on a Monday night and was already booked solid.

Wise move that we booked our reservation. We were seated and it was classy as expected yet casual so no dress code. A candle was lit w/ fresh flowers on our table and our water glasses already filled.

It was loud yet not overbearingly so. Music played and a basketball game was in effect on two small televisions over the bar in the distant yet couldn't see who was playing. More entertaining than the basketball game was the bartender who reminded me of Tom Cruise in the film Cocktail. The bartender was quite a showman and was dancing around while shaking two drinks at once and had as many moves as the late great Ken Kesey had magic tricks, a lot since Kesey was an adept magician. I don't drink and don't advocate it yet all things in moderation as well as moderation.

Our server was friendly enough helping us navigate the menu. Many vegan options.

We started off with the salad rolls with a yummy peanut sauce before going for the Pad Ke Mao Wide, rice noodles pan-fried with chili sauce, tofu, broccoli, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, basil, and bean sprouts.

I prefer things a bit spicy and my friend likes things on the milder side. The spice level goes from mild to extra hot so we compromised between mild and medium or mild plus. It turned out perfect amount of spice.

My friend was happy and said she wouldn't want to go hotter and I would have been fine with it yet as is yet decided to bump it up a bit by adding some of the hot sauces on request. One of them was smoked and had quite a kick. The other less of a kick and more like a basic chili sauce. I ended up sweating a bit though. I know that eating spicy food is good for circulation and also the body feels like it is being attacked so the body releases endorphins so is a safe way to live dangerously for those who don't like bungee jumping. Recommended!

Great Thai option

Super delicious modern Thai food! Menu is clearly marked with items that can be ordered as a vegan option which typically just means they leave the egg out. Lots of menu options with this veganizing. Had curry and noodles and fried rice and whole table shared. Appetizer spring rolls are good.
