Choose from the two or three vegan curries: tomato curry (available daily), spinach curry, or moong dal curry. Set comes with yellow rice, spicy potatoes, pickled vegetables, salad, and sometimes a small soup. Could pay extra for larger portion of curry or rice. Ask about ginger ale, soy chai tea, or for packaged bean snacks. Located a 3-minute walk from Habu Port, which is a 50-minute bus ride from Onomichi station. Open hours vary.

Excellent Food and Interesting Space

You might miss this place! I walked by it a couple times before figuring out where I was. It is kitty corner to a large supermarket (Fourier I think).

The food is amazing, I had dal and rice and some vegetables and there is also an authentic 'pickled' pepper garnish (I forget the name, but it has a great salty heat to it).

Awesome

Pretty cool styled restaurant 200m away from habu port.
I had 2 vegan currys (bean curry and spicy tomato curry) and some side dishes which were awesome - go for the salad aswell!
Pretty fresh ingredients and a nice taste.

Pros: A pretty huge vegan menu, Very friendly staff

The food was amazing! They have one vegetarian curry option and it was absolutely delicious. The decor is really hip and cozy, it's got a really funky vibe. Owners are very friendly. Definitely recommended!

Genius by the Bridge

One of the great beauties of the Shimanami Kaido is what lies beneath it — Ruryon Curry, one of the best, most atmospheric restaurants I've been to in Japan. The curry is delicious and includes a special vegan created curry with amazing sides. Any time I come to the Onomichi/Innoshima area, I will take a bus, plane, spaceship, or just walk in order to come here — really, it's given me some special memories.
Best of all is the atmosphere and owners. You are a friend before you walk in the door and can enjoy either a quiet night of delicious food or have a deep talk.
I'm lucky I get to write a review of this restaurant. It's very special.

My Favorite Curry Place

I live in the area (but not on Innoshima) and go here every week because:

1. The food and atmosphere are excellent

2. Even if you only go for a night, the owners Tomoji and Ruri are extremely friendly and will make you feel at home.

3. The place itself has a million interesting miscellaneous items. This ranges from genuine artworks by local artists to action figures, to a guitar. There are also occasionally interesting events like 'wear a summer kimono and get one drink free' on Saturdays in August. (John Lennon night is coming up in December). There is also great music playing and local crafts sold.

I genuinely couldn't give a higher recommendation to any place I know of.

Pros: Very kind owners (Tomoji and Ruri), Awesome food, A great atmosphere for adult groups or kids

Cons: 50 minute bus ride (but in a gorgeous location)
