Very Zen dinner

Had an exquisite dinner at Ruo Tea in Penang. Love everything about the place. It’s so zen. Food tasted amazing. It was so calm and peaceful. Would definitely visit again on our next visit to Penang! Seating is limited, best to make bookings.

They do have a minimum of RM38 spending per person.

Pros: All vegan, Peaceful

Beautiful dining experience

This place is very calming and the food is delicious. Honestly we were very taken aback by how affordable it was as it felt like a very refined and luxury dining experience. The plates come to the table in a very cool set up as well. With the music, tea and atmosphere we ended up having a very relaxed and mindful dinner.

The portions are big though, we ordered sides but ended up having to take them home because we were so full, our mistake. I loved the little appetisers, very unique flavors like green papaya passion fruit salad, and wood ear mushroom salad.

I recommend the bbq vegan pork sesame bun, very heavy but so very delicious.

Rude and not worth the Grab

After messaging them on WhatsApp (my number has a 1 which is a USA/Canada number), they then messaged me randomly saying "we don't take US dollar". I've lived in Malaysia for 8 months and have never received such a comment (nor have heard anyone ask this question). Such an odd statement. 🤨

Putting my experience aside before I walked through the door, the app and pao I had was good (although pao was a little dense and not that fluffy) but the main was extremely bland.

Can't one star the place.

Nice experience

There is a nice atmosphere. The dish sets are SO nice. Unfortunately some of the foods took a really long time. Everything we had was very delicious. One staff member speaks English which is helpful.

Vegan Tea House

A place for chinese tea experience and healthy vegan meal. Choose to experience making tea on your own with the kingfu tea set provided, or simply order a readily brewed by their tearista. This place serves mini individual hot pot too. Just choose the choice of your own, herbal, spicy, or kimchi. They have a variety of rice dishes too. Do check out their selection of side dishes. You don't easily get to find elsewhere, especially 💯 vegan ones. Please be aware that there are a few house rules. No children below 10 is allowed, minimum spending RM38 per person, and reservations are strongly encouraged as the seatings are really limited. Overall, it's a place that promotes healthy and mindful eating and spiritual growth.

Pros: All vegan. Great selection of dishes. , Chinese tea experience. , Quiet and comfortable environment.

Excellent Japanese-style tearoom setting with deliicous vegan food

The newly opened (as of 1st October 2023) tea-house / vegan restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere. Customers must change their shoes before they go in. In the restaurant you may choose between normal tables or Japanese Tatami style tables. The food are quite tasty. We chose the mixed mushroom steam boat and the traditional Chinese black vinegar stew

Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, Excellent variety of foods

Cons: Limited tables. Please make appointment first
