Would totally give a 5 star if it would allow. This is one of our go to take out places. Food is always consistently good. Something for everyone and she is very good about making sure things are kept vegan and if you have an allergy that it is prepared safely.

Great family-run restaurant. - Edit
I personally love this place. Leng and her sister are accommodating, friendly and helpful with making sure that your dishes are made vegan when you ask. It's a good dine-in spot if you want exclusivity. They are more of a takeout spot, but barely anyone takes advantage of the cute dining setup they have for people who want to sit in and relax.

Pros: More than half of menu can be made vegan if asked., Great food with hearty servings. , Great staff who are friendly and personable.
Cons: Somewhat pricey(but worth it)., No alcohol. , Can get busy with takeout.

Vegan friendly - Edit
Many restaurants in the area will say things like “I don’t know what vegan is” or “we don’t know what the ingredients in the sauce are, it gets shipped to us” - meanwhile Ruk Mae clearly labels vegan options and are knowledgeable about the topic. They politely informed me that the fried tofu isn’t vegan and asked if I wanted it steamed (which I did, and it was really good!!).

SO MANY OPTIONS - Edit
I came here from an hour a way and it was sooo worth the ride. So many vegan and gluten free options and the thai food is amazing. I got the pad thai and the mango smoothie and it was amazing!! They also offer either fried or steamed veggies but personally I would recommend getting the steamed veggies with brown rice.

Not great - Edit
I really wanted to like this place because I heard so much about it. I also really don't like leaving negative reviews, but...
Read moreI ordered the Rama garden which was steamed vegetables with rice and peanut sauce. It was ok, but not great.
My steamed vegetables were not drained at all - there was a lot of water at the bottom of the bowl. The peanut sauce was very thin and salty, and there wasn't much of it. A request for more never came.
For dessert, we ordered mango sticky rice and the presentation was just bad, with a block of ice cold sticky rice (that was not actually sticky), with 3 small pieces of unripe mango swimming in watery coconut cream.
I can't help but think maybe it was an off night, so I might give it a try again next time I'm in the area.
:-(

Great spot! - Edit
Ruk Mae is a great option for a vegetarian or vegan. While a vegan often can find a meal at Thai or other Asian restaurants, Ruk Mae is the only place in the Easton/Stoughton/Brockton/Sharon area that makes it easy. The menu has a variety of vegan options, with many other items easily convertible to vegan, a fact that is highlighted on the menu. And the staff understands what vegan means if you ask for a non-vegan item to be changed to vegan. The owners work the restaurant and are inviting. The food is good. It is not the best Thai food I have ever had, but it holds its own.

Sweet people, great food - Edit
I always go here with my friends because it's cheap enough for broke teenagers to afford, and it eliminates my fear of Asian "vegetarian" meals that always seem to contain beef or chicken sauce. Nearly every dish on the menu has a "vegan" and a "nonvegan" version, and the waitress always asks which one you would prefer. On many occasions, the waitress' sister, the chef, has come out to ask me if my vegan food was up to my standards, which it always has been. The two women are so caring and passionate about their food, and it's nice to see such a thing in a town that doesn't have very many "health food" restaurants at all. The food is delicious and vegans will never run out of options here. It is one of my absolute favorites.
