True luxury

I had a wonderful experience at Royal Thai during lunch with my non vegan parents.

The separate vegan menu was extremely useful and extensive, with a lot of options.

Our tasting menu was elaborate and varied, giving no impression that we were missing out on anything. Despite the main course being more mixed quality (some of the 7 dishes were not excellent), all entrees and the dessert were superb.

Moreover the restaurant is grand and beautiful, being a very pleasant space.

Not cheap as others said

Fancy Thai vegan menu

They have several vegan options including a fully vegan menu, which is what we had. Although expensive, it included lots of food. I especially loved the starters and dessert. Great for a special occasion.

Pros: Many vegan options , Full vegan menu

Cons: Expensive

Vegan menu

When I go here I take the set vegan menu that they advertise prominently. Lot of different plates with plenty of delicious food. The staff is very friendly and I like the decor.

SERVED NON VEGAN FOOD FROM "VEGAN PRE-FIXE"

VEGETARIANS/VEGANS BEWARE...I have been throwing up for almost 2 days!
I was so horrified when I ordered the 95 Euro Prefix "Vegan" New Year's Eve dinner that the waiter mistakenly served us a course that had Salmon and fish sauce in it. Things I not only am opposed to eating, have never eaten in my entire life but am allergic to and discussed with the waiter BEFORE we were served anything. I spend the remaining 2 painful days of my holiday with gut wrenching vomiting, crawling between the bed and the toilet. The manger took 50% off the bill and the waiter apologized for his mistake (he said he forgot he was serving us the vegan dishes) but that in no way made up for all the pain and sickness that caused me. DO NOT RISK EATING HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN. In addition, my boyfriend went to use the restroom and a staff member complimented him on his shoes...at that point, he looked down and there was a giant roach walking across the floor. The staff member smashed it with his foot. What we expected to be a special evening on New Year's Eve, turned into a painful nightmare. Vegans beware.

Pros: Lovely decor

Cons: Lack of attention to dietary concerns & allergies, Cleanliness

Try the vegan set menu!

Went here on my birthday and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend the vegan set menu for around 33 euros each (it’s plenty for two people). You get 5 little starters, 5 little mains and a dessert. I loved the authentic Thai decor and it feels special.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Lovely authentic Thai decor , Really tasty food

Cons: Slightly pricier than average Thai restaurant

Superb Vegan Set Menu

Delicious vegan set menu!! Yes, it’s all vegan with no fish sauce (I made sure). Seriously try it - I will be back. The appetizers are delightful. The vegan green curry is fantastic, and the pad Thai-style noodle dish included in the vegan set is very good. The sweet and sour tofu was too sweet. The included vegan desserts were fine. Seriously try this out. My photo is of the main courses of the vegan set menu.

*Would give five stars but Happy Cow restricts non-veg places to four stars.

Pros: Very tasty , Really vegan , Fantastic ambience in restaurant

Cons: A bit expensive

Affordable and tasty

At ca 34 euros, the vegan set menu (consisting of 5 starters, 5 main courses and one dessert) certainly seems like good value for the money. While some of the starters weren't all that memorable, the main courses were quite satisfactory, even if we missed spicy flavours. The dessert, including a vegan coconut jelly, topped things off nicely. All in all a good experience, as vegan Thai food is not that easy to get a hold of in the Iberian peninsula.

Alright

The food was alright but not very special. There was a bit of a price disparity. Okay for a restaurant with vegan options and non veg food but would not go back.

Pros: Many vegan options

Cons: Expensive , Bad service

Wow

I don't know why people left this place bad reviews. It was sooooo delicious!! There are a number of vegan options!!! The prices are normal to me. My husband and I got the set menu and it was a variety of appetizers and a variety of dinner meals plus dessert for each of us. It was sooo much food and everything was soooo yummy!!! Oh man I hope we get to go back some day!!! If Happy Cow let me give this non vegan place 5 stars I so would!!! YUM!

Time and Relative Dimensions in Space

Any vegan, vegetarian, meat reducing or veggie curious Doctor Who fans will understand this if they go here. For those that don't it has quite a small entrance door but it's absolutely massive on the inside. Why else would they be reading this in the first place if they didn't fall into any of these categories? We walked in to this place at 23:00 after watching the Barcelona Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on TV and literally ordered whilst we walked to be shown to our table...."tofu red curry, tofu green curry, rice, sparkling water and a bottle of house white"...Within 10 minutes it was all there on the table ready to go. Perfect, exactly what we wanted. Thai Barcelona is certainly an impressive establishment. Main courses are in the region of €15, house wine €12 and rice €4.50. Both were very good, my only complaint would be that the tofu was a little bit too bland. I like a tofu that soaks up the curry sauce, but this was just a hard type tofu probably cut from a bigger block. Nevertheless, it was good to be here and experience a Thai restaurant for the first time in Barcelona. It's a mystery but we always seem to find a very decent veg friendly Thai place in the cities we visit across Europe usually thanks to Happy Cow.

Pros: grand interior, vegan friendly, nice toilets

Cons: meat served

SO disappointing !

I went there because I just arrived in Barcelona, it was quite late and I was hungry. This place showed up on my app so here I went. The service and the place are EXTREMELY fancy, be warned. But the staff was everything but friendly. Seriously not a smile, nothing. I asked for a soup that could be "made vegan on request" but the waitress had no idea what I was talking about (vegan??) The food was both pricey and disappointing. I had a coconut soup (super small, and around 8,50 € !) and a portion of rice that was almost 5 EUROS ! 5 euros for a bowl of rice that was definitely not the best rice I had ! The soup was average, tons of coconut milk, no spice, no galanga or lemongrass, seriously that was a joke. Basically just frothy coconut milk with a few veggies and that's it. For 15 euros. I'll never get back there again !

Pros: opened till late, everything vegan is clearly marked

Cons: extremely pricey food for the quantity , the staff is not friendly nor helpful , the food was below average

OK Thai Food

Fairly decent Thai restaurant with the usual vegetarian and vegan options, mainly tofu based. Pleasant environment and attentive staff. It was open late and we arrived well after 11 which was no problem, the place was still busy and we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated.

I had spring rolls followed by a spicy stir fry tofu dish with jasmine rice. All quite nice but nothing out of the ordinary and quite pricey. Go for it if you fancy a Thai meal, but I would imagine there are equally good Thai restaurants around the area.

Pros: Decent food, Attentive, Nice environment, Open late

Cons: Limited vegan choice, Expensive, Nothing special

Safest place to eat real Thai food in Barcelona.

I´ve eaten at Thai Gardens (as they are known here) too many times to count. They have a great value menu of the day at 15euro: spring rolls, red or green curry (not too spicy sadly;) and fruit for dessert. Includes a 25cl bottle of estrella or wine. But my advice is save up and go a la carte! The menu includes a veggie section, and its clear what is, and isn´t vegan. For true Thai flavours I´d rec the Som Tam (green papaya salad), Yum hua Pli (banana flower salad, my fave), Tofu sate, Tom yam hed (spicy mushroom soup), and the Pad Kaprdaw tofu, stir fried with 3 thai basils and green pepper. It´s fresh as. Don´t for get the rice! This is a seriously good place, but don´t go for the red/green curries! For 4 people works out at about 25euro including a few drinks. Share food and save money! And get them to send it all at once, you´ll get more food. ;) Enjoy!

Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Staff

Cons: Um., Er., It´s worth it!

Very good

If you like thai food and you are a vegetarian/vegan in Barcelona this is the place to go.

We enjoyed Kio Wan Tofu (fried tofu with seasonal vegetables and green curry), Poh Pia (traditional spring rolls) and Pad Metmauang (fried tofu with vegetables, pineapple and cashew nuts). Everything was really good and tasty.

The place is beautiful. The only con is that the price is a little bit expensive.

Pros: Taste, Environment, Location

Cons: Price
