Friendly staff, lovely food, LOTS of choice - Edit
Really lovely little pub, staff were all super friendly and helpful, food was amazing. We didn't book and arrived about 7.30pm but the lady at the bar managed to find us a table inside so we could order food. It's really tricky to find good vegan options around here that aren't a vegetable burger or pizza, so was pleasantly surprised by seeing a huge menu with several vegan options plus extra options that can be made vegan. Partner said they were the nicest chips he's ever had and he's fussy with chips. I had the mushroom and leak pie with mash and veg, really nice and the chocolate fudge cake was DIVINE. A tiny bit pricey but worth it compared to paying similar prices for worse food elsewhere. Will definitely be returning!

Fab vegan options - lovely pub - Edit
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and fantastic vegan options. We had the vegan banana blossom fxsh & chunky chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce which was the best I have ever tasted-so good we returned and had the same a few days later. Will definitely be coming back.

Good vegan choices but not that tasty - Edit
The Royal Oak is a good choice for a meal with your carnivore friends as they have an extensive vegan/vegetarian menu as well as a wide range of meals containing dead things. It was nice to have lots if vegan options to pick from, many of which were adapted versions of what was on the main menu. So, for example, you can have vegan fish & chips, a vegan fried chicken sandwich, a vegan burger or a vegan pie. I went for the pie, which was mushroom & leek, but I found it a bit underwhelming if I'm honest as the filing was stodgy & not particularly tasty. It also felt a bit expensive at £17.25. My meat-eating friends enjoyed their choices more so, who knows, maybe I made a bad decision.

Great vegan menu - Edit
Following the extremely slow service we experienced last year, we gave it another go, lured by the best vegan menu in the area. We had the tofu rice, kids plant balls and pasta and the kids vg fish and chips. Also had 2 vegan desserts. The food and atmosphere of the pub are really nice. Service still a little slow and lacking, but way better than last year!
