Healthy vegan friendly oasis - Edit
A lovely surprise in what appears to be a business park. Many healthy vegan options. I had the vegan quinoa bowl.

So happy we came here! - Edit
To be honest, I was coming in with low expectations with no reviews in 4 years, including some mixed reviews. We happened to be in the area running errands up the street. I though we would be getting pre-prepared quinoa bowls or juice and was pleasantly surprised!
Read moreThere is plenty of parking including dedicated spot for Roots Natural Market. As you make yourself to the door, there are plants and herbs outside you can buy, nice out door seating.
Inside to your right is a beautiful cafe with reclaimed wood. To your left is a a small but very vegan focused selection of cosmetics, bath, frozen, fresh and pantry stable foods, wine, beer, hard cider, etc.
We bought a frozen taquitos from a brand I never heard of or seen in my local Whole Foods. Excited to try these!
In the cafe, there are several vegan menu items: Vegan Reuben, Vegan Grilled Cheese, Vegan Grilled Cheese Delux, The Vegan Wrangler, Kees Vegan Kale Caesar, Vegan Quinoa Bowl, and all of their bsked goods are vegan AND GF! There are other dishes too that look like they are or can be made vegan like the Veggie Sandwich with lemon dill tahini cashew sauce ( it looks vegan ), Avocado Toast, Garden Salad.
We bought the Vegan Reuben, Kees Vegan Kale Caesar salad, two baked cookies, one cupcake, coffee and seltzer. It all came out to ~$55 plus tip. Everything was delicious! Sandwich was a bit pricey at $17, but was worth it! It was massive, delicious and very filling. Caesar salad was so fresh, well dressed and super flavorful. We ate one cookie so far the smores. It was soooo soft, chewy, gooey, crunchy, and delicious! It brought me back to childhood memories eating a smores poptart but like waaay better.
Super impressed and this may be a regular spot to go when in the area. It seems predominantly vegan, catering to non-veg. Highly recommend!

Great selection of vegan items - Edit
Small natural food market that has a great selection of vegan cheeses, cold vegan products, frozen proteins, shelf stable products and more. Also has a kite un with vegan selections as well as a to-go refrigerator with a handful of vegan prepared foods. Has an array of cosmetics as well. The staff are all very friendly, helpful, and nice. Definitely not the experience that the subpar reviews reflect.

Never going back - Edit
Update: I had the worst service I've ever had in my life today. I loved roots the staff's usually amazing but today I had a different experience. Today my order wasn't good, when I called in to alert the staff the phone was given to kitchen staff member- I was like yay my issue will be fixed, but then she got on the phone with an attitude, insisting I've never had soup before and the type isn't to my liking. I WAS a regular at roots so I've had a soup or two....they have a soup of the day so there is no exact reference to what something should taste like. But if you order a broccoli chedder soup it needs broccoli, or it's just queso ! So I bring it back for my refund. I grab a spoon with slots on it to strain it and show them I'm not crazy......and they basically told me they couldn't guarantee any soup would be anything more than puree. Love the food here but not worth the [censored] service. If someone's going to return food apologize and give the refund don't be an ass when I wasn't #customerservice
Read moreShe was so rude I didn't even get to tell her I didn't want a refund but the veg to go in the soup, still hungry and disappointed. Like a brake up with a hot boy ,I'll probably want to but I'm never going back!
Old reveiw: Makes great smoothies, juices, sandwiches, salads and soups of the day! That basically sums up their menu- excluding bowls (soba noodle,keto...ect). Cozy seating with lots of plants , a gem.
Pros: Local produce , Filling , Creative vegan food
Cons: Pricy , New staff

Love it here! - Edit
This place is only 20 mins from me, I go here all the time! There are plenty of amazing vegan options for food and all their smoothies are vegan. My favorite lunch is the TLT with pickled onions on sourdough! Restaurant is attached to their awesome natural food/health store. Order online to skip the line.

yummy vegan kale Cesar salad - Edit
Stopped by per app finding and reviews on way to and from Boston. Great place with plenty of vegan and healthy options. Very accommodating with requests. Very tasty food, especially vegan Caesar and Dragon bowl. Sandwich was packed and delicious. They have extensive juice and smoothie options. Do bone broth, which I found unappealing as a vegan but good place and would stop again. Would give 5 stars if more vegan centric and app allowed.

So delicious and so close to home! Unfortunately, I work restaurant hours so my schedule doesn't always allow for me to get there during business hours. But I am here as much as possible. I especially love their miso broth when I'm under the weather.

Great pitstop if you are heading from the city to Western MA - Edit
I've been traveling Route 2 for many years for frequent trips from the Boston area to Western MA and somehow missed Roots Natural Foods until this past week. It's the perfect pit stop about an hour from the Boston area and fairly close to the highway. The cafe is fun with many vegan options. They also offer vegan baked goods. Great selection, parking, and kid-friendly. The market is also fun to check out. I found a great selection of vegan candies and treats there. The unusual wood stands in the front room are interesting to check out too!

A Vegan Oasis in a Non-Vegan World - Edit
Natural foods store with adjacent cafe. Great vegan options at the store and on their wonderful menu, including a separate smoothie menu with countless choices! The chef (Kevin) is warm and friendly, and there's always great music playing. Local ingredients used often! We eat and shop here at least once a week!

Been going to roots for 20 years! - Edit
I have been supporting Roots for 20 years and have used them as my grocery store being very happy with their choices for products. They pay attention to current trends well for such a small place. I heard a rumor they are going to add on a cafe and i am hoping this is true.
Read morePros: They have great selections, down to earth & helpful staff, important resource for the area
Cons: a bit out of the way off rt 2, wish they had a deli/cafe, once in awhile expired items on shelf

Lovely store, Terrible Service Rude, Dismissive - Edit
I was in the store on 12/28 at 5:30. I had called ahead looking for 1 specific product. I found several oils I used to order online. My quick trip for 1 turned into me spending 135 on 10 different oils! I was so excited to find everything local. The cashier was nice. He bagged 11 bottles of carrier oils, all in one tiny paper bag. He was flippant about my remarking on that fact. Sure enough, no sooner do I get out of the car, the bottom of the bag gave out, sending my products rolling to the ground. It was pitch black dark outside, windy and cold and I had to crawl around gathering up my items. A bottle of lavender and 1 bottle of Tea Tree oil broke on the pavement, 3 other bottles had their caps break, and a bottle of Neem oil cannot be found I called the store and explained what had happened, and was told that a manager would call me back. I used tape to attempt to seal the bottles to prevent additional leaking. On 1/2 I left another message, and the owner called me back today. She told me that all I need to do was bring in my products for a refund.
Read more1 bottle of Neem was missing, as far as I know it may not have even been placed in the bag
2 bottles (lavender and tea tree oil) were broken/unsalvageable
3 bottles had the plastic caps broken right off contents leaking out and a large bottle of apricot oil still had a seal, but there must be a crack because it is 1/3 empty. She said she did not feel that she was responsible for items that I lost. Flabbergasted, I repeated myself in case she misunderstood. Nope. Her employee putting all of that weight in one bag was not her problem, I needed to bring back the full bottles for refund. It is a lovely store, fantastic selection. I wish that the service was behind that though. I will not be back. Spending 135 dollars on broken glass, plastic and various carrier oils dumped all over the pavement is not what I consider a
Pros: Nice selection , Fair prices, Happy Staff
Cons: Staff too busy chatting together to do jobs, Owner is just rude. No customer service , No value on customers
