Situated on the promenade above the beach, it was great to see a vegan food truck so busy. Burgers were generous size with bacon and sauces.

Saw Roots for quite a long while before having a chance to try, wasn’t disappointed! Good burgers, crispy chips loaded with tasty special sauce and cabbage. Their special menus are amazing too! 😊

A small selection of vegan burgers and loaded fries, as well as Oreo and biscoff milkshakes. Tasty and nice to see it had the largest queue of all the food trucks at the beach!
Read moreOnly giving 4 stars because I do think it is expensive for what it is - £9.50 for a burger that doesn’t come with chips and £6.50 for a milkshake. Ok for once in a while but I don’t think it is worth that price. Will get occasionally to support the vegan business and I do recommend😄

Lovely to see a vegan business doing well! - Edit
This place has a really good menu, and I was looking forward to trying it on my trip to Aberdeen. Unfortunately, they'd sold out of Tofu (for the Special Salt & Pepper Tofu burger) and Cauliflower. They did offer alternatives, but as I personally don't eat mock meats, I had to turn down these very kind suggestions and just had some fries. The fries were delicious, and it was a generous portion, so I was very full after.

Amazing fries - Edit
This was my first visit and definitely won’t be my last. I had the Roots Signature Loaded fries and they were so delicious and flavourful. The staff were great and it didn’t take long to make despite being busy. It was a gorgeous day so I was able to sit on a bench by the beach watching the dolphins jump.

The food there is insanely yummy. We were quite full from the meal we had before but still had to try at least one burger - what a luck! This was seriously one of the best European burgers so far. Unfortunately they‘re only at their food truck on the weekend.

Roots should definitely be on your list of vegan hotspots in Aberdeen. Combine it with a visit to Footdee and the beach and you will have an amazing time. The price is just right and the burger was very tasty. I would definitely go again to try more of their menu!

Best burgers we’ve ever had - Edit
So glad we managed to catch this place open as we missed them the first time we were in Aberdeen as they were on holiday. So worth the wait. We had the katsu curry chicken burger, the bbq short rib burger and an Oreo milkshake. The burgers were so flavoursome and the sauces were amazing. Warning, you feel like you need to take a shower afterwards as they get very messy! A must visit!

ROOTS is completely vegan. They are open Fri - Sun over the week end all Winter (and now full time at Bar 99 on Back Wynd).

Friendly service, cute little green van (down the Footdee end), tables and chairs.
